The Missing

On the 29th of May 1973, Blair Taylor's older brother, Phoenix went missing. In a small town like Ocean Springs, things like this don't happen very often so it's kind of an odd thing. No one here is really used to people just going missing without a trace. He's been gone for nearly 2 years, I only know this because Blair was in my English literature class last year and she always used to talk to her best friend, Casper about how much she always misses him. I get that she's upset n all but people go missing all over the world, and there are bigger problems than that. Besides, everyone has to go at some point, so why not prepare yourself and you'll find it a lot easier to cope when someone you love leaves. Everyone you love hurts you, it's just you have to find the people who are worth getting hurt for. Blair is worth getting hurt for. She's perfect. If only she actually knew I existed, I mean, she probably doesn't even like girls.

"Angel! Angel, hey anyone in thereee?"
I was shocked to look up to Blair's deep hazel eyes glaring down into my dull green eyes, how did she know my name? I had never spoken to her in my entire life. Let me catch you up on the situation.

Me and Blair had been at the same school since we were about 9, she transferred here from England, you would never guess, she seemed more American than me, she had a beautiful tan, dark hair, everything a girl could ever want. She has the perfect body, an amazing style, she is just perfect. I, however, am the opposite, I'm pale, I have dull green eyes, odd coloured hair due to the amount of times I've dyed it, it's currently some shade of white... I think. I have basically no figure, and umm people are still getting used to me being a lesbian. The boys take it in a way umm... it's hard to explain, but they quite frequently ask to watch... you know. The girls on the other hand, think it's vile and dirty, but I don't care, I am who I am. We had English literature together last year and physics together a few years back, we had never spoke. She and Casper were inseparable, but he left at the start of last year, this was a couple of weeks before her birthday, and she had virtually nothing, no brother, no best friend, she had no one. I felt sympathy, mild interest, but I would never have the guts to talk to someone as beautiful as her.

Everything changed today, I was sat alone at lunch, not really thinking, just in a daydream, she came over and asked to be my project partner for performing arts. I would never turn down such an offer to work with someone as talented and stunning as Blair. We made plans for her to come over to mine on Friday night so we could go out, get to know each other, and then she could stay and we could work on our project on Saturday.
