Chanyeol's POV
I give a small wave to my mother as she slowly backed away from the school's entrance and I can't help but smile as she returns the gesture with a thumbs up, something she's done daily since primary school. The September wind tousles against my hair and forces my hair to fly in all directions as I grip my backpack strings and pull it against my body. I groan and pout a little as I trudge into the building. I hate school, SM High pristine school for the rich and talented. Then again, who wouldn't hate this school?
The only good part is that I'm a senior, meaning in 7 months I'd be freed from this hell. Not only that but I have a severe case of Senioritis and it is not pretty.
Kids walk past me, some girls giving me adoring heart eyes and some guys as well, but I pay them no mind. I just stare at the walls which were painted gold and red, well repainted the year prior. I halt. I don't want to do this, not right now. I'm lazy and tired I could come back later with a late pass. "Maybe if I just-" I turn back to the entrance.
"Not so fast Mr. Park." The school's principal slides an arm around me. "No skipping today or you're getting detention. Again. You still have one to serve after school."
I scoff and forcibly shake my head, slowly easing my way out of the man's hold. "Mr. Wang, I would never want to take advantage of this elite school by ditching any classes." Sarcasm oozes from my voice. "I was just trying to slip outside and get some fresh air before class starts. These crowded hallways do give me quite the headache."
Mr. Wang looks around the hallway, which in fact has no students around, and checked his watch just in time to hear the soothing chime of the school's bell. "Looks like you're too late for that Bruce Lee, get to class."
I turn around before mimicking the principal's order behind his back and stomp away to Chemistry.
Apparently, Mr. Wang doesn't trust me to get there on my own. He walks beside me the whole way, up the stairs and to the end of the hallway. Annoying prick. Usually, I'd be able to sneak into class without getting a tardy mark. My chemistry teacher is an older lady with grey hair and wrinkles, but if Mr. Wang insists on following my ass to class I'd be in trouble for sure.
With a defeated sigh, I watch as Mr. Wang opens the door on my behalf and I almost flinch awaiting Mrs. Choi's disapproving frown and her punishment.
"I'm sorry for the interruption Mr. Byun, but one of your bad seeds tried to fly away."
Wait? Mr. Byun? I have a substitute? I almost laugh at my good luck, but instead, I stay back placing a faux pout on my face as if I were disappointed in myself. Teachers love students who reflect on their bad behaviors.
"Ah- It's only the first period too." A silky deep voice states, followed by a rich chuckle.
Mr. Wang then pushes me in where I lose my balance and fall right in front of expensive suede shoes.
"Keep an eye out for that one, he's pretty troublesome. Resume your studies, kids." Then he disappears with the clanking of his shoes.
"Bye Mr. Wang." Many females in the class practically faint from a glimpse of him.
Jerk. I roll my eyes from their actions. You see, Mr. Wang is only a few years older than I, and his dad was the one who ran the school. Unfortunately, 3 years ago his old man had a heart attack and was put under house rest for a while. During his absence, he begged the school board to allow his son to run such an elite private school because he couldn't "bear to see anyone else take care of the institution he built from the bottom up."
I'll admit, he is pretty hot. The man is Chinese, which gives him a foreign charm and the fact that his body is built makes up for the lack of height. His voice is deep yet mesmerizing and- what does it matter? I hate him anyway.
Quickly, I get up off the ground and wipe my hands on my pants.
"Are you alright?" The charming voice speaks again, and I look up to face Mr. Byun. The man looks wayyy too young to be a teacher. If anything he should be a kpop star. What is he doing here at SM High?
I don't answer because I'm too pissed at Mr. Wang for ruining my ditch day. Instead, I shrug the substitute off, go to my seat in the back and plop on the chair dramatically. Even with my bad attitude, Mr. Byun keeps a simple smile on his face and resumes talking about boring stuff.
"Psst." I tap on Sehun's shoulder. "What's with the sub?"
Oh Sehun, my best friend, doesn't look away from the board and continued to scribble down notes. "He's not a substitute. He's our new teacher."
Looks like I'm writing another TeacherStudent Chanbaek story. Hehe. I just loved writing the first one so much and I tried to write other stories but I could never finish them so hear I am ig.
For those of you familiar with History3: Make Our Days Count, I am basing Chanyeol's character a bit after Xiang Haoting :) the loml except for ep 9 screw that. and I'm not sure about Baekhyun just yet.
Anywho hope you enjoy.
