The cold months had already swept up and finished the year as December rolled around. It was the perfect Christmas scene you could imagine. Fresh snow glistening as it blanketed the ground, brightly lit lights filling every crevice of the early, dark winter nights and the streets were completely empty. I could only admire the Christmas streets from afar through my window as I was locked up in my house just like the rest of the country.

Everyone knew that  deadly virus had attacked the earth killing over 17,000 people and everyone knew that it was bound to kill more but no one would ever have thought that they would have lived a real world pandemic in their lives. An outbreak of the virus has lead the government forcing us to stay at home to make sure that we don't spread the virus more than it already has done. This virus has come out of no where and the scientists don't even know what it is meaning that there is no cure. This obviously ends in the entire world panicking and losing their minds. I'm only losing my mind because I can't go see Luke.

Luke was the boy that all the girls craved for. Sweet, charming, good looking and funny. He was just shy so not that many people were able to actually find out just how amazing he is. I met him in July after sitting next to him unintentionally before a school band concert started and ever since, we've been pretty inseparable. We'd see each other almost everyday as we'd go for bike-rides or walks into the forest, he even helped me get out of my toxic relationship and after that, I was madly in love with him so not being able to see each other for three whole weeks felt like a lifetime. In the meantime, we were able to call and text each other because after all, it is the 22nd century, we have automated planes and cars now so it's not like we have to wait weeks for a letter to return. I came home from a bike-ride with him on the night that it was announced that the country was going into a lockdown. If I knew any earlier, I would have hugged him a little tighter before he left. I didn't realise that it was going to be a few weeks until I could see him again.
