"Let's move it ladies!"
I huffed a huge breath and leaned forward, gaining speed and passing my teammates. As I crossed the finish line, I heard the faint 'beep' of the coach's timer go off. I stopped and looked up towards him with great pride. I'd been training for this race for two weeks straight and though that may seem like little time, it meant the world to me. This was gonna be the biggest race of the season, against our biggest enemy, Lexington Highschool. I was gonna win first place and prove myself worthy of a scholarship to the college of my choice. But that dream was torn away from me all because of that house. Because of that one night.
