"Don"t leave me Emma! Please, I love you."

I woke up by the sound of my alarm clock. Beep beep beep. Ughh.

Can that thing please shut up for once? I need my beauty sleep.

My eyes searched for glacces but my head wouldn't shut up about the dream. That dream.. I had it again.

Actually, I've been having it for the past 5 years. The thought of him wouldn't leave my mind.

But back to reality, I really need a shower. Hmmm.

I got out of my comfy bed, hopped into the shower and put on my clothes.

All i needed to do now was get my ass up and tell myself how fun work is. Note the sarcasm. I left home for college and a better future but what did I get? Good grades but a bad job. I work at a newspaper but I only get to do the paper work and copy stuff - 'cause I'm the new one', they said - and I just don't like it.

I get up in the morning and loose the urge to work immediately. I love the newspaper Itself so don't get me wrong, but I'm a creative writer person and not a get me a sandwich and copy this paper for me please person. So here we go, he ho he ho off to work we go.

I'm at Starbucks getting my usual coffee for the day. The cashier, Mike, gives me a friendly nod and we have a little talk.

We see each other every day and It's always nice having a little chat on my way to work. He lives together with his girlfriend of 2 years in a flat on the north side of the city. It's quite a long walk from there.

Anyway, he hands me my drink and wishes me a nice day. I give him a smile and mumble to myself: "Sure."

The office is chaotic today. The layout has to be finished tomorrow so everybody is very stressed. I place my coat on the chair and turn on my computer.

15 new e-mails. Ughh.

I hate it when people, that are just across the hallway ask me something by mail. What's the point about that? Are you even to lazy to ask me in person if I can get you a cup of coffee?

Okay.. so copy the document of Amy, take one last look at the article of Bob, get Tim and Andy some coffee and print the pictures for Mary. Right. Well, let's go.

By the end of the day I got spilled coffee over me, got yelled at twice and my boss threw me out of a conference because I "got on his nerves".

All in one you could say it was a pretty normal day in Emma's beautiful live. Yeah I know what you're gonna say now. Why don't you just quit? Well, I can't. I mean I can, but It's the only way I can get into this industry. And everybody starts on the bottom, right? At least that's what I tell myself every day. It will get better soon. I choose this life and now I'm going for it even when it isn't what I hoped for.

The cold wind blows in my face and reminds me that it's winter. To be precise, December. And December means Christmas. Yeah. Lucky me. Note sarcasm.
