My older brother

1-arriving

As the car pulled into the driveway of the new house my jaw dropped.THE HOUSE WAS HUGE!!!My mom smiled and said," so you like the house or not"
"Oh not really.its tiny old fashioned and boring"i said sarcastically."of course I love the house!It still doesn't make up for you making us leave."i mumbled the last part softly but I thnk she heard it because she did a loud sigh.I missed my friends already.And no we didn't move because of my moms job or somthing.We moved for my brother.I still don't understand.hs makes us move to get closer but I don't even th-"are you coming?" My mom asked."oh yeah"somtimes I get drifted off in my thoughts.I opened the car door and grabbed a box from the moving truck.When I got inside my mom was already microwaving a stoufers macaroni and 2 air mattresses were set up.I put the box down and looked at everything.Everything was big and modern.i went upstairs and opened one door.it was nice but too boring and this is going to sound crazy but waaayy too big.i closed it and went to the next one.it was a bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror.i looked exaghsted.My hair was messy in the bun.i had not too dark but noticeable circles around my eyes and my sweatshirt had a big stain on it from when my mom spilled my drink in the truck.i left the bathroom and went to the next room.i loved it it had a balcony which is the reason why I loved it.When I was little I loved going outside.At night.i don't know why but the cool breeze and crickets chirruping calmed me.i realized I was up here for a while now and thought my mom might want me.i saw my mom at the bottom of the stairs.
"Do you like it?"
"Yeah I already picked my room too. the one with the balcony."
she smiled
"Well your'diner' is getting cold.
I sat down on one mattress and she handed me a bowl and fork.
We just ate in silence.
When we finished I checked the time
10:56.
I eventually fell asleep.
I guess this is my welcome to California.
