ANNABETH'S POV
I was walking down the hallways when I saw Max and his minions cornering the little emo kid Nico. I didn't get along the best with Nico, so I didn't get involved. "Hm... What do you have here." Max said, emptying out Nico's backpack. Nico's eyes where full of hate as if he could pulverize them on the spot, but he didn't.
If Nico just said something to Max, he would be left alone. His silence stressed me a bit. Max shoved him against the wall and was about to do something else when someone spoke up. "Dude... Stop." It was Percy talking to Max. I couldn't stand it anymore. "Stop it Max. What did Nico ever do to you anyways! Stop being a conceited IDIOT for once."
My words echoed through the hallway and attracted a crowd. I shoved through the mass of people and ran to find my friends.
