Love at first sight

Safe Place

"What is it" I text back. He texts back in a group chat With Clementine and Walker in it along with the two of us. "We should fly the squad to Australia!" He texts. "I've reached out to Mariam's mom and she says it's a great idea to surprise Mariam" he texts next. "You've really thought this out haven't you?" I reply "yeah" he texts. "Everyone in this group chat meet at starbucks tomorrow so we can discuss details".

                              Sophie
                        The next day

"Hey" I say as I walk into starbucks. "Hey" Clementine says as we go to sit at a table. Walker comes in next and sits down. I decide to go order everyone's drinks and then go sit back at the table. Jentzen walks in right when we were supposed to meet which I'm not surprised about because he's always arrives right when you're supposed to meet. "Who's ready for mission Australia" he says while sitting down and taking his pink drink. "Mariam and Piper can't know" he says "meaning we can't post about it on social media" I rephrase knowing Clementine would want to post about it. "Okay I get the point" she says "obviously we need to talk to all the parents about it though because that would be weird of we didn't" Walker says "yeah" I say. We sit and talk about the plan and we set up every little detail. "We know Piper will get suspicious so we have to come up with a story we can all agree on" Jentzen says "we've been rescuing kittens without her" Walker suggest "then she would ask to join" Clementine says "what about it's a surprise for her birthday" Clementine suggest "It's the middle of March. Why would be planning for a birthday that's in August" I say. "Good point. What if we say we're planning a camping trip" Walker suggests "Then she would ask if she could come" Jentzen says "you're right" he says. "What if we say that we're all getting together to have a secret Marvel Movie fan club" I suggest "she hates marvel movies" Walker says. "I have the perfect idea! We say that we're planning a surprise" Clementine says "but we can say that we can't tell her what it is because it's a surprise for everyone else in the squad" I say "then she can't ask anymore questions. We've all just been overthinking this" Jentzen says. We talk some more and then we all leave.

                        The next day
                             Jentzen

"I can't wait to see Symonne again" Sophie says. "I know it's been forever" Piper says "why is it only Ryker, and I here?" I ask " because we want Ryker to find a crush so we're introducing him to two new girls" they explain "and where do I come into this?" I ask "you're just here early for once. Everyone else is coming over to film a video later" Sophie explains. Emily and Symonne and walk in to the house and Piper and Sophie go to say hi to them. Next I introduce myself and Ryker introduces himself, he's already starting to act awkward around Symonne and I think he likes her. They would be so cute together, oh my goodness I'm starting to sound like Sophie. The rest of the day is spent filming videos and getting to know the new squad memebers.
                         Sophie
I wake up and get ready to go to the table reading for fish in a tree today. When I arrive I sit at the chair marked Allie and I sit down. Corinne walks in and sits next to me in the seat that says Keisha she smiles at me so I smile back. It's been almost a year since the last time I saw Corinne, she left the squad and said she just needed a break from all the squad drama that was happening. We start the table read and it takes a few hours, when it ends Piper and my mom come to pick me up. As I get into the car Piper is asking me so many questions about the table read as if I've never been to one before. I used to go to the MANI ones because I was a part of the cast. When I get home I grab a granola bar and go to my room to watch Netflix. I'm watching Stranger Things when my mom comes in with a sad expression on her face. "What happened" I ask "you're father has been arrested" she says "what!" I say trying to hold back tears. Even after all the bad things he's done I still cared about him, I though this might happen someday, I saw this coming and yet I'm still upset about it. Is this my fault that he left my mom? Is this my fault that he did this, because I refused to talk to him? "What did he do?" I ask "Attempted murder" she says. "If there's anything you need or if you want to talk about it just tell me" my mom says "Can I just have some time alone?" I ask "of course" she says while walking out of my room. When she closes the door I begin to cry so much that it feels as though all my tears are gone and I'll never cry again. I stop crying and wipe my tears, I try to take deep breaths to calm myself down but now I'm crying even more. "Hey Soph do you want to talk?" Piper asks "not right now" I say. She leaves my room and I make my way to the place I feel safe which is the guest house in the backyard. It's my safe place. This is where I sit and think to myself but today I walk inside and I can't think. I start to cry again and then Jenna walks inside the guest house carrying a duffle bag. "What happened" she asks as I stand up and start wyping my tears. Jenna comes here when her parents are fighting and it becomes too much. She's stayed the night in this guest house so many times I've lost count, but anytime she comes I'm here to talk to her and tell her everything will work out. This time she's the one telling me everything will be okay when I tell her my dad was arrested. I finally stop crying and ask her sympathetically "why are you here?" "My parents are getting a divorce" she says. I give her a hug and I know not to tell her everything will be okay, because that's not what she needs right now. I've gone through this and you don't want to be told it will be okay because you know it's a lie. After a while of comforting Jenna I leave because when this happens you just need some time alone for a while to think. I still blame myself sometimes for my parents getting a divorce but my mom tells me it's not my fault and I try to believe her. I go back into my bedroom and Piper is sitting on the chair next to my bed. "What happened?" She asks "he's arrested he attempted to murder someone" I say trying not to let tears fall from my eyes again. She gives me a hug and then asks me "who's in the guest house, I saw someone walking in after you" "Jenna" I reply. "I wouldn't suggest checking to make sure she's okay right now I think she needs some time to herself, but maybe later we can bring her some food" I finish "okay" she says. We watch Stranger Things until 7pm when Piper's mom tells us Pizza is here. We grab a paper plate and take some pieces of pizza and take some to Jenna. "Hey Jenna" I say while handing her pizza "how are you doing?" Piper and I ask "yeah'' she says. "Just know that you can talk to us" Piper says "I know" Jenna says. She takes a bite of her pizza and we leave the guest house.
