I saw a pleasant petal,
Floating in its fall,
By the winds hidden high,
Above the palm tree tall.Flew over the oasis ocean,
The desert's solemn sea,
Upon those sunlit shimmers,
The peach petal flew free.Flap onwards, the tribal tents,
Whence the dessert Simum blew breeze,
Just atop the arching annexe,
The pearly petal; seemed to freeze. The sirocco, no genteel gent,
Thus came a gusty gale,
A full flutter, a faulty falter,
Slowly halted the salient sail. The penchant petal crawled it's last leg,
The gall giving no respite,
My eyes-across-met her eyes,
A graceful gaze held me tight.Staring into those obsidian orbs,
Felt the paltry petal dead,
Yet I smile, a winsome while,
I found my amaranth up ahead.amaranth
[am-uh-ranth]
noun
an imaginary, undying flower.
