I just got out of the airport, I'm surrounded by a lot of tourists who really seem amazed with the USA. I never truly saw anything special about it. Maybe it's beachside I have been here so many times, it's just not that special anymore. I hear somebody calling my name and i look down to see a man with a driver cap waving at me. I take my luggage and smile at him and say thank you as he takes my baggage. It takes us quite some time to get to the address but we finally arrive and I say to the driver. "Thank you sir, keep the change" I pay him a hundred dollar bill and he looks at me shocked,I get out of the car and take my luggage. I look at my new house, my mom bought it for me and she knows I'm responsible so I don't really need a babysitter. I mean I'm fifteen!

I smile and walk in the house. It's my first time living alone. This is gonna rock. I quickly start putting all my stuff in the house, it already has furniture, mother insured that. I tried to wear one of my simplest outfits and I had to fight it in me not to wear jewellery,because god knows what neighborhood I am in. I get outside and see Monse already waiting for me. I say "Good morning!" She smiles and says "Hey! You look great" I smile and say "Thank you" I look at her left to see two boys smiling at me, I smile and say "Hi, I'm Aïda" The short one says "Hey I'm ruby" The taller one says "I'm Jamal" I smile and we start walking to school and Monse suddenly seems pissed and I say "You ok" She nods and walks in front of a driving car" The car stops and a man puts his head outside the window and screams "You crazy!" She walks up to him and I follow her. She says "I just wanted to tell Cesar I was back in town" He smiles and says "And looking like a fine ass hyna" He looks at me and says "Hey! You new?" I nod as he looks me up and down and says "Desde cuándo las bellezas como tú se interesaron por este barrio?" I look at him confused and drives off.
After school

I have soon discovered the guy Monse was interested about was Cesar and the rude guy from earlier is Oscar. I was actually about to walk to Ruby's house because that's where we were supposed to meet up. I walk buy a pretty broke down house and see the man from earlier with a bunch of other guys, working out. He looks up at me and smirks. I ignore them and keep walking but I hear him say "Hey you! Wait up" I turn around and say "How can I help you?" He gets up and walks up to me, the other men also get up and look at us. He says "What's your name?" I say "Aïda" He smiles and says "Where you from?" I say "Is this some sort of interrogation?" He says "Somewhat" I say "Far from here" He says "Be specific" I say "Africa" He smiles and says "Where?" I say "Senegal" He nods and says "I'm spooky, freeridge is my town" I smirk unimpressed. I say "To be perfectly candid....I don't care" He glares at me and then laughs. He says to his friends "Rich girl got character!" They laugh and he looks at me, he says "You got mouth, what you here for? Are you also one of those foreign poor orphans that are taken by the school to uphold their reputation" I smile because he has no idea. I say "You could say that" He was about to say something else but I say "Forgive me, but, I have somewhere to be" He looks at me and I say "Good day" I turn around and go to Ruby's house and knock on the door, I turn around and still see spooky looking at me. I glare at him and see the door open.
