"Don't Breathe"

My eyes are closed, my lips tightly shut as Jason gets out whatever present it is he's got me. We're on this hill, our hill. We should've gone out ages ago but I guess we were both too shy, so now we've got each other "should've done this before sorry" presents, it's cringey and gross but, it's between us, and it's all that matters. I begin to open my mouth, to laugh or to smile-

"DON'T BREATHE"

Dad! We're here, the dank, murky final place, but it's wrong - Dad's smiling! I can't see it, my eyes are closed, why- It doesn't matter, why's dad smiling? The waters up to our necks, this is it happening again. I need to speak, to warn him- but something painful's grabbed my leg, like i'm shackled to the floor. The water's bubbling over my mouth, I need to open it, to scream my final-

"NO, DO NOT BREATHE"

The corridor, no, not this corridor please. And Jason's here of course, it was us together at this point, the window opened at the end, as we knew it'd be. We're there, he's boosting me out, my eyes closed as the shock of nighttime cold hits me, but this is wrong - he's grabbed my leg, why's Jason grabbed my leg? I'm kicking, kicking and kicking, get off, get off, why're you doing this, stop, kicking and kicking and my lungs are tight I need to scream and i'm kicki-

I break the surface of the water, finally opening my mouth to the blissful shock of clean, untainted oxygen, the gray hand having let go or been shaken off. The other thing must be nearby but I can't focus, I need to breathe. I need to rest; I feel like i've been in the water for a thousand years, every part of me losing the will to...be. I shake around, where's the raft..? There, close, dipping about as I disturb this red, awful water near it.

Then I see him.

Standing on the raft, perfectly balanced against the movement, stood, shouting my name. A boy, an impossible boy. A saviour, ruiner, gift and curse of a boy who just couldn't be. His name was Luis, and he was the perfect distraction for the second body, as it swam behind me.

(AN - Please don't be turned off by this boy, this isn't a "the two last people find each other and become lovers!" story, have faith. :D)
