It was a lovely autumn afternoon. Birds chirping as they soar across the clear sky, following the direction of the soft blow of cool wind. The golden sun was beaming down, highlighting the red, orange, and yellow leaves resided on the old gigantic trees that seem to survive for thousands of years. The warm colours of the leaves complimented well with the vibrant green field and the footpath that Y/n was trailing on.
This park was the park that Y/n had grown up with and fell in love with for his/her entire life, well besides his/her parents. It was this place that inspired him/her to be immersed with colours and scenery, which led him/her to be attracted to art. Almost every time after school, Y/n tried his/her best to make time to take a stroll in this park, especially since the afternoon was the highlight of this park.
Y/n arrived at a red bridge that separated the calm stream of water from the nearby mountain to the serene lake, reflecting the radiant sunlight sparkled like diamonds. This spot was Y/n's sanctuary, where he/she can feel his/her stresses being strip off and replaced with the tranquillity of the moment he/she was in. Today, he/she had a tough day at uni, with one more assignment being thrown on top of the piles of headaches. He/she could remember the nagging of his/her professor when she nagged at the entire class. The thought alone made Y/n gagged, thinking of all the pain that he/she had to resolve.
Looking at the lake, Y/n was reminded of the past. Looking at the necklace on his/her neck reveals a little picture of a boy/girl with the biggest grin in his/her life, stood in front of a couple who had sparkles in their eyes looking at their only son/daughter. Yes, it was his late parents who were with him/her on a lovely beach. Y/n smiled at the picture, his/her mind was brought back to that certain incident that prevented him/her from having that child-like grin.
His/her thought was interrupted by a rumble. He/she was hungry. Y/n chuckled at the interruption and immediately digging his/her black backpack, scruffling around the books and papers inside, until his/her hand reappeared with a plain bread. Y/n, although was relieved with the sight of food, was quite disappointed with another plain bread that he/she had for the past few weeks.
"Hahhh, well at least food is food. I need it to survive anyway."
A mixture of excitement and relief began to enveloped Y/n as he/she unwrapped the white plastic bag, revealing a golden brown bread. The light and airy smells invited the young adult to heaven, as his/her belly was waiting for a speck of food since lunch.
"Thanks for the m-"
"YAAA!"
*SPLASH*
Y/n quickly turned his/her head over, scanning the source of the voice. In the lake, a similar white plastic bag that looked like it has something bread-like in it, was floating for a fleet moment, until it began to gradually sink to the deep bottom of the lake, slowly, slowly, until it could no longer be seen. "Yikes," Y/n thought. "Poor the person who dropped it" Y/n looked up to find the poor soul who dropped the precious bread.
Poor soul? Pardon me, lemme fix that real quick.
Poor Y/n. He/She had a heart attack.
It was a girl who stood next to Y/n, and gosh, he's/she's lucky and unlucky at the same time. Compared to the lake that sparkled like a diamond, her innocent yet attractive face, accompanied with her long violet hair, allured Y/n away from the scenery. Despite the innocent feature, she looked real mature with her spectacles and her black sweaters. He/she was so distracted by her beauty, the thought of her just lost her bread didn't cross Y/n's mind until now.
"Crap" Y/n panicked. "What do I do? Should I just give her mine and starve for the rest of the day or being a dick and savour my lovely bread?" Y/n was conflicted. But it was the violet hair's girl's adorable yet shocked face and her sparkling eyes that looked like she was about to cry made Y/n sacrificed his/her hunger.
"Hey" The violet hair girl turned her head at the voice. "You can have mine"
And Y/n was so glad to choose that path. The girl's frowning face was replaced with the biggest and brightest grin, followed by a cute gasp. She looked conflicted at Y/n's offer.
"Nah, Nah, it's fine. You should eat it." Her voice was adorable, soft and airy.
"But I insisted. You looked like you waited for a whole day to have that bread." Y/n replied, feeling sympathetic to the poor girl.
"Yeah, I travelled from Daejoon to Seoul here for the entire day. Gosh, it was so tiring.." She wiped her forehead. Y/n chuckled at her cute action. "That explains the travelling luggage."
"Yep" She puffed, and Y/n swore it was the cutest thing he had seen for a while.
"What for, may I ask?" A surge of confidence began to cover Y/n.
"Oh, hehe, I wanna be a teacher, so I wanna get a degree in education, that's all. Teaching is fun for me. Helping the others are my thing, you can say." She bashfully scratched her head, as her violet hair was used as a decoy for her blushing face. "Gosh, this girl is cute" Y/n thought.
"Ya, same here." The violet haired girl looked up, her eyes widened. "You two?"
"Yeah, helping others enlightened me." He took a deep breath. "Although my heart leaned towards being an artist more, you know? Being enveloped by freedom as you express our feelings onto a canvas with a brush, I think it is amazing." Y/n chuckled.
"But how come? You sound like you are passionate about art?" The violet hair girl questioned Y/n. Y/n's panic was obvious to the girl, she began to regret her decision to ask.
"O-oh, I just want a stable job, that's why." Sweats emerged from his/her forehead, hoping that she bought it.
"I see.."
The silence engulfed both of them. Y/n couldn't take his/her eyes off the girl in front of him/her. As the sky began to turn dark, her violet hair seemed like it was glowing brighter than everything Y/n had seen. He/she was intricated by the bright and adorable face that she had, accompanied well with her mature outfit - a black sweater covering her slim body, with her black jeans highlighting her long legs. Y/n was so lost in his mind, he forgot that it began to turn dark.
"O-oh, shit, it's getting dark. You can have this bread, I'm not that hungry." Y/n offered.
"How about we share the bread?" The girl suggested.
"Why didn't I think of that?" Both of them laughed. Y/n ripped his/her bread in half, lending the girl the other half.
"Thank you" Her eyes gleamed at the delightful offer, and both the young adult began to savour the bread in what seemed like not even a second. Not even a crumb of bread left behind.
"Gosh, that tasted good." Both of them synchronised, followed by their eyes interlocked each other. Tints of red began to develop on both of their cheeks, causing them to turn their head around.
"A-anyways, I guess I should go, I need to see my new apartment room or the landlord will take it." The girl quickly grabbed her luggage. "Nice to meet you, by the way. Thanks for the bread" She smiled.
"O-oh, all goods" Y/n stuttered at the bright smile. "Hope we can meet again, you seem like a great person."
"Nahhhh, you gave me the bread, so you're my saviour. Hehe" Gosh, one more laugh and Y/n will be sucked into the girl's charm. This was once in a blue moon, and Y/n ain't letting that slip away from his/her hand.
"I'm Y/n, by the way. Kim Y/n" He/she announced. The girl turned back. Deep in her mind, she was relieved for him/her to take the step first.
"Minji. Kim Minji."
