Chapter Two- Awake

Eridan smiled brightly, looking at Sollux. "I'm so glad you're awwake!" He spoke softly. Sollux groaned and sat up, staring at him. "Heh, me two." He chuckled quietly, running a hand through his hair. Eridan stood and offered his hand. "Here, I'll help you to bed." Sollux took his hand, blushing lightly. He stood, wobbling and gripping Eridan tightly. Eridan quickly slipped an arm around his waist, holding him up. "Careful." He cautioned. Sollux blushed worse and leaned on him, limping to the bedroom with him. "Thank2, ED." He smiled. Eridan smirked and helped him lie down on the big bed, tucking him between the white sheets and the violet cover. He smiled and brushed a stray hair out of his eyes and blushed. "Uh...I'll sleep on the couch." He mumbled. Sollux gripped his wrist. "Waiit...can you sleep iin here? Wiith me?" He blushed deeply, searching for an explanation. "Ii ju2t don't want two bee alone. Iin ca2e ii have a niightmare." Eridan's eyes widened and he blushed lightly. "Of course..." He smiled brightly and climbed under the covers. Sollux sighed happily, curling up with his back against Eridan's chest. For a seadweller, he was surprisingly warm. Eridan smiled and layed an arm across his waist, holding him close. Sollux blushed but didn't complain. "Uh...niight ED." He smiled, closing his eyes. Eridan placed a feather-light, almost non-existent kiss on his cheek before closing his eyes sleepily. "Night. Swweet dreams, Sollux."

Sollux whimpered in his sleep, rolling over. He gripped Eridan's shirt tightly. ED looked down at his hands. He hadn't been able to fall asleep, so he just laid beside him, his arm tightening around the injured troll. "Shhh, it's okay," he spoke softly, stroking Sollux's hair. "I'vve got you." Sollux let out a happy sigh, nuzzling against his chest. "Mmh..." He grunted slightly, holding ED's shirt tightly. Eridan lay still, afraid to move. Sollux whimpered again. ED rubbed his back soothingly. "Shh." He whispered. He hated to see Sollux upset. "Nngh...ED?" Sollux groaned, looking up at him. He blushed lightly, noticing their position. He considered pulling away, but decided against it. He curled up happily in Eridan's embrace. "Thank2." He mumbled, hiding his face. "No problem." Eridan chuckled quietly and closed his eyes. "Night Sol." He drifted off to sleep, followed soon after by Sollux.
