It was the last day of school for the term, Felix leaves his class and heads to his locker and grabs his shit as he looks over to see Avery at her locker.
"Maybe I should tell her now... or maybe the other thing..?" Felix says to himself still looking at Avery who's still at her locker.
Avery closes her locker and looks over to Felix and smiles as she goes over to him. "Hey, Felix."
"Hey you, can I talk to you about something actually?" Felix closes his locker looking at her again. "Sure, what about?" Avery holds her books to her chest.
Felix takes her hand and walks outside and to a quiet part of the school. "hey let go of my hand!" Avery says playfully. "Oh shush." Felix chuckles and stops turning to her. "Avery, I wanted to tell you this for a while, but I never got the chance, we have been friends for a long time and I care about you a lot you are like my best friend and If i didn't say it now I might never say it... I like you and I have for a while... I like you more then i have any girl before and If i don't do this now Ill regret it..." Felix leans in as Avery stands there not being able to say anything until she realises his lips are on hers.
Avery widens her eyes when she feels Felix's lips on hers, she quickly pulls away and slaps him without thinking. "Crap, I-I'm sorry Felix." She steps back looking at him. Felix places a hand over his own cheek and looks at her shocked. "Sorry... I didn't think it would turn out like that..."
"I like someone else Felix and you cannot just go around kissing whoever you want... especially me... I am not someone you can do what you want with because we are friends." Avery crosses her arms. Felix just looks at her like he been slapped in the face again. "I shouldn't have done that... sorry Avery... I am going to Australia... for a year to study abroad, I was hoping you felt the same so I knew when i left that you were into me... but i guess not." Felix sighs and turns around.
Standing there hella confused Avery doesn't say anything as she just looks at the back of him now, hoping she says something Felix stands there for a moment before realising nothing would be said. "I guess i'll see you in a year then Avery... see ya and i hope whoever you like ends up liking you back." Felix sighs and walks off leaving her standing alone.
"W-what just happened..." Avery says to herself wrapping her head around the information until she finally understands what he meant. "he is leaving.... and i slapped him.... crap, I am the worst friend ever and now I won't see him..." Avery sighs and crosses her arms over her stomach and walks home.
Felix arrives home and heads straight inside and up to his room bumping into his twin sister Farrah, "Woah dude calm down." She crosses her arm turning to him. "Sorry sis, can't talk got to pack so I can go as soon as possible." Felix looks at her. "Where too? oh right Australia." Farrah nods, "Have fun when you go by the way." Felix nods and goes into his room and looks around wondering what to pack.
He didn't want to think about how he got rejected the girl he had feelings for since middle school, he didn't want to think about how she was into someone else and that he would not be the one who made her happy.
"Fuck i need to drink, badly." Felix sighs and decides to call a friend to pick him up so he can go drinking before he leaves tomorrow. Heading downstairs he leaves the house and waits for his friend to arrive.
10 minutes later Felix is at a bar drinking with his friends and laughing as he forgets all about the events of today.
"Gonna miss ya dude when you leave tomorrow." His friend Josh raises his shot as he drinks it.
"Definitely dude, but 1 year in Australia? Cannot miss that shit." He chuckles and drinks his shot before ordering another.
Josh orders some more and then looks at his friend, "I heard you kissed Avery." This causes Felix to look at his friend again and sighs. "Yep and got slapped for it too." Felix downs another shot, "guess I got to give up, maybe I can fuck a bunch of girls and forget about her." Felix orders two more shots, "Dude you really wanna fuck your way through life?" Josh downs his and turns to Felix. "I guess so, besides I'll be spending most of my time practicing and studying." Felix chuckles.
He didn't want to become that person but after knowing the girl who was actually in love with doesn't feel the same really hit him hard, and wanting to forget was the only way. Felix looks around and spots a girl sitting two spots from him. "Well dude I am gonna go, hang with that girl over there you have fun with the guys." Felix smiles hoping off his seat.
"You are a troubled child man, but you do you and be careful there don't be getting put in hospital because you got bit by some weird bug or something," Josh laughs hoping off his seat. Felix nods and hugs his friend, "I won't besides I'm smart and i know when to run." He pulls back and walks to the girl as he sits next to her and starts chatting to her.
The next morning Felix groans as he rolls onto his side opening his eyes checking his surroundings before realising he is not in his room. Sitting up slowly he looks down and sees the girl from last night naked beside him.
"Woops..." Felix sits up carefully not wanting to wake up the girl he obviously slept with last night not remembering anything that he did last night at all. He gets up and puts his clothes on finding his keys and wallet before heading out of the girl's room and to her door, leaving. her house Felix calls for a cab and waits until it arrives before hopping in and driving off.
The taxi arrives at Felix's as he pays the man and hops out and heads up to the house and slowly goes in without making a sound.
"Felix Adam Jones." A voice speaks stopping Felix from walking as he looks up to see his mum. He knew he was in trouble now, "Hi mum..." He knew this wouldn't end well, "Where the hell have you been? You never came home last night we were very worried." She looks ar him her arms crossed.
"I went drinking with friends before I go, sorry I meant to message you but Josh and I crashed at his late and I forgot." Felix lies hoping his mum goes with it. "Next time or whenever you come back it better not happen again got it." She says sternly. Felix nods hoping she lefts him past, "Now go pack we leave in 2 hours." She steps aside letting Felix go upstairs as he goes into his room and grabs his bags out, he decides to go for a quick shower to clean himself up. Once finished he dries himself and then changes before continuing his packing.
Two hours later, Felix, his mum, and Farrah were all at the airport waiting for his flight. "Now do you have everything you need?" His mum looks at him, he nods and could see she was stressing. about letting her son got to another country alone especially for a year. "Yes mum and don't worry I will be fine and I'll text you even." Felix smiles.
"Okay good because it's going to be quiet without you home, just be us, Mia, Lily and Farrah." His mum says sadly. Felix walks over and hugs his mum tightly, "I will miss you mum don't worry and everything will be okay." He smiles as she hugs back. "Good." Felix continues hugging his mum for a moment before pulling away as the intercom calls for all passengers to Australia.
"That would be me, I will definitely miss you both and I'll see you guys in a year." Felix smiles at his mum than his sister. "Yes, you better be careful dude." Farrah smiles and hugs her brother tightly, Felix smiles and hugs back and then pulls back grabbing his carry on luggage and heads to the boarding area, he waves to his mum and sister as he moves out of sight.
Felix waits in line at the boarding gate until he scans his ticket and heads down the ramp towards the plane, once inside the plane Felix finds his seat and puts his bag above the seat and then sits in his designated spot. He was slightly nervous but excited to leave this town for a bit, he looks on his phone for any messages especially from Avery... but nothing. "Should have guessed... oh well." Felix sighs and puts his phone on airplane mode before getting comfy. "Australia here I come."
