My siblings and I were in the common room in our family tower. The three of us were patiently waiting for our best friend, Carlos, to come so we all could discuss the elephant in the room. Our surroundings were very quiet. A few minutes later, his pet raven came with a message for us. Edina, my sister, gave her some birdseed and water before sending her off.

We read the note which stated that we were in danger because of the crimes we did. Whatever we did was for a good cause. We were trying to find ways to leave this place. The government is so corrupt here that the citizens would blindly follow them to do a bad thing. Our parents were responsible for killing the dark spirits, but they were killing flawed creatures. The Queen is abusing her power by sheltering all of us from the rest of the world by a huge stone wall. I wanted to tell everyone the truth. However, no one other than Edina and Edmund, my brother, and Carlos believe me.

If Carlos would have come, the four of us could've discussed a plan to run away and get people from the outside world to help us. Maybe the world beyond the wall isn't so bad. But I've read books declaring that the world is a corrupt place. At least the people out there are free to do whatever they want, right? I want the public to know the truth so that they can overthrow the government.

"I'm back, children," our mother called from the door. Edmund was about to open it when I stopped him.

"Mum said she would come back late. It's too early. Dina, check through the opening," I stated. Edina peeped through the eye hole and quickly ran back to us, her face as pale as death.

"It's the Brainwashing Machine with her gang," whispered Edina. 'The Brainwashing Machine' was our code name for Queen Camille, a witch who has indoctrinated over thousands of creatures in our city, Astos. Edmund immediately grabbed his wand and went to the nearest window.

"We need to act now," he shouted as he casted spells on the crowd. Some people counterattacked him, so Edina and I rushed to help. The three of us were able to stop them for some time, but Camille broke the door and busted in. Edmund asked me and Edina to follow him to the pinnacle of our tower. When we reached, he tossed a backpack stuffed with essentials to me.

"It's best you leave now. We'll miss you," bawled Edina as they hugged me. Edmund gave me a flying potion and looked at me sadly. They went to fight Camille after I thanked them for everything and said farewell. I drank the liquid and flew out the window.

I was anxious at first, but after crossing the wall, I truly felt happy and free. But now I had a greater job to finish...to save my people.
