Triiiiinnnggg!
My alarm woke me up from my deep deep slumber, tossing me back into the reality. My lazy hands found their way to the other side of the bed which lay empty.

He didn't come home last night.

I frowned and got up, squinting as I turned on the light.

The crisp and tidy uniform that I had ironed last night was neatly hung up on the handle of my wardrobe. I got out of bed, and went straight to the bathroom. After about fifteen minutes, I was done brushing my teeth, washing my face and taking a shit.

I made myself a steaming hot cup of organic green tea and walked towards the balcony, my empty hand exploring the wall as I crossed the hall.

There were various pictures of me and my husband lined up properly.

My name is Andrea Theodore Kunnington. I work at United West (UW).A bank which is extremely famous and has gained quite an impression amongst the younger generation for relatable and adjustable policies and efficient work. And yes, I do stay behind a wooden desk all day, trying to get my files in order.

My husband, Theodore, is more of the economist kind of guy. He works at 'Trades and More' in Brooklyn and is an amazing trader, in fact, the best I've seen.

Another day Rea, another beautiful sunny day wasted behind the desk.

You see I wasn't always like this. I was a cheerful girl from a small town. I had fascination about what my life and the world had to give. And I grew up in an environment where my parents were very supportive of my ideas.

I came to New York after I got transferred from UW California to UWNY. And thing changed. I met Theodore in one of those client meetings and people still say that they saw sparks fly. Honestly speaking, Theo was a gentleman back when I met him. And we got to know each other better and got married.

I wanted to shift back to Cali with my family and friends but Theo told me how important this job was to me. And I agreed. Back then.

Theo has changed since back then. He drinks a lot. He once brought home a mistress from some bar and had no memory of it the next morning. If he's not drinking, he's working. And he always tells me how perfection is everything in life. A few years into the marriage my young mind started to believe whatever he said. It was just that Theo was always right!

Im currently 28, and now sitting in my Honda as I travel to work.

It's just another day at work. Attended meetings, had lunch, cleared some files, talked to my desk mate Samantha and made a few calls.

What's weird was that everyone kept staring at me today. People were whispering amongst themselves. At one point I asked a girl what's wrong and she just swatted her hand and walked away.
I saw as the clock struck four pm and stretched my legs out a little. One more hour to go.

I started clicking the keys again when my desk telephone rang.
"Hello this is Andrea Kunnington. Who am I speaking to?" I asked with a pretty drained out voice.I might not be the greatest person for a long phone conversation.

"Andrea! This is Robert. Can you come up to my office please."
I instantly sat up straighter. Robert was my boss and he was the amazing but very strict. I respected him but he was a bit of an old buffoon.
"Yes sure." I said sweetly as I cut the line.

I went into the restroom and brushed my hair. Adding a little cherry gloss to my lips I walked out of the bathroom and entered the elevator.

There was just one guy in the elevator. I gave him a small smile before getting in and pressing the button to the level that I needed to go to.
"Which floor, Sir?" I asked politely, noticing that he wasn't a staff member and would probably need assistance.

"The same one that you're going to." He said in a smooth silky tone.

He had a really great voice. I couldn't see his face exactly because he had sunglasses on,but I could tell that he preferred spending his free time in the gym.

I walked out, as the lift reached the fifth floor, and knocked on Robert's door.

"Come in." He said and I did  as I was told, walking in with a confident but polite smile.

"Aah yes." He said smiling back. "Thank you for coming up here And—" he stopped midway because of the loud phone ringing on his desk.

I stood there awkwardly as he attended to the phone first, motioning me to sit down.

I took a seat on the plush leather hair and looked around.
To say that I was nervous was an understatement. Okay so I had never spoken with the man sitting in front of me.

He wasn't my direct boss or something. He was a very superior person and also was a board member. Although he had a heartwarming grandpa smile he was also known to hate errors in work. As I wondered if I had made an error in the account work I noticed Robert stand up.

In reflex I stood up and saw that Roberts was looking at something behind me with a huge smile plastered on his face.

I followed his eyes and turned around curiously, and I shit you not but my heart stopped a moment as I saw a dangerously handsome man walk into the office.

The worst part was that he wasn't my husband. I looked down at my feet hating myself for feeling that way for another man.

Wait wasn't this the same guy from the elevator?

"Andrea Luna" Robert said, mentioning my maternal last name. "Meet Raiden Dimitri."

I turned back to look at Raiden.

Thunder and lightning.
