Work has been getting tougher and tougher the past two weeks.
All of us have been feeling sort of weak and sluggish and can barely get our work done.
I blink twice and realize that I had zoned out for the gods know how long.
I slowly get up and make my way into the kitchen. As I enter a high pitched ring escapes from the phone. I hesitate to pick it up, waiting a full three rings. Nobody calls our home unless there's an emergency.
I press the receiver lightly to my ear. "Hello?", I barely whisper.
"Hello darling. It's Hera. Expect me in 20."
Click. The echo of the dead line droned on.
I slowly put the phone back on it's stand, trying to comprehend what just happened. I called my sisters down, the dead line still ringing in my ears.
