Bashar in the MM. 🥴🥴I was feeling a bit nervous because this was going to be my first big concert. I mean, from before, of course I had performed, but this was going to be big. Those small gigs that were building up for me were setting me up as I become a bigger artist.
I just had released my newest album Meet the Woo in July and it has only been 3 weeks since then. It is clear that people fuck with my music and I'm very happy, I'm changing drill music forever. Anything I want, Imma have it.
I was chilling backstage of the Barclays as I saw Lil Tjay perform None of Your Love. That has honestly always been one of my favorite songs from that lil nigga, hopefully me and him hop in the stu one day.
I tried to release my nerves as I realized that it was getting closer and closer for me to perform. I had to call my moms.
Calling Moms❤️....
I was getting anxious but a smile grew on my face as she answered the phone.Connecting..
"What's up moms. How you feeling?"
"I'm okay Bashar, what's wrong? Something in your voice is telling me that something is."
"A bit ma. I'm just nervous to go on stage. This is a big step for me now and I'm feeling very anxious."
"Keep your head up son, you are a King. I raised you to be one. Remember why you began to rap. And Although you see things differently from me, pray to Allah that he will help you okay? Love you and have fun Bashar." She smiled through the phone as your heart felt warmth.
"Okay thanks ma, I love you too. Bye."
My mother was my world. After my father passed away when I was young, she continued to believe and push me. She pushed me hard so I wanted to make her happy by graduating and walking through that stage.
I finished high school and was a free nigga. I never thought about college because I always had this musical side to me.
I remember as a kid when my moms and pops would dance around the house to the O Jays, the Temptations, and even played some New Edition and some old school Usher.
Even if I hated some of that music when I was growing up, now at twenty, I listen to old school r&b everyday. I laugh at that at times because when you're a kid you don't like what your parents play but when you get older, trust me you'll be up there jamming with them tunes.
I've decided to put on "Breakin' My Heart," by Mint Condition, it was one of the bests.
"Pop you on in 5. Let's go nigga and turn that shit up." My friend Mike and other niggas came to Dap me up.
"Y'all already know the vibes. We getting this shit like fuck is you talking bout." We all laughed as I got a water from the cooler.
I was pumped to do this shit that I loved.
After the concert was over, we headed over the the club. That was really one of the best concerts.. I'll never forget that shit. I know there are going to be plenty more of those.
