A SUDDEN rustling sound caused her to jolt up in her sleeping bag, hand already on the gun that she hadn't given back to Rick yet. Her eyes were already on the flap of the tent and her muscles relaxed when she saw that it was only Glenn.

She slumped down into her sleeping bag and furrowed her brows when she heard how heavily he was breathing. "Are you okay? Sounds like you just ran a marathon."

Glenn quickly situated himself on his side of the tent in his own sleeping bag and shuffled uncomfortably. "Me? Fine. One-hundred percent fine," he brushed off in the same tone he always used when he was rambling or nervous.

Arden shrugged. "Okay." She couldn't force him to talk if he was uncomfortable. A few minutes of silence passed and Arden could feel herself drifting off again. Oh what wonders an actual sleeping bag and roof over her head could do.

"There's walkers in the barn," Glenn suddenly blurted, causing Arden's eyes to snap wide open.

"There's what —" Arden began, rather loudly, before Glenn scrambled out of his sleeping bag and suddenly popped into her line of sight above her.

"Shh!"

"You're fucking kidding me, right?" she pushed on, this time in a harsh, demanding whisper. Glenn suddenly seemed pale and sweaty.

"No, and I wasn't supposed to tell anyone," he whispered back frantically, the reality seeming to truly set in.

"Who's making you keep quiet? They're just...keeping them there?" she pushed on, sitting up on her arms. Glenn slumped backward and buried his face in his hands.

"Maggie. Maggie's making me swear to keep it secret. Her father thinks they're all just sick," he explained, looking around as if someone would pop into the tent and tell them it was all just a joke.

"And you saw them in there."

Glenn nodded.

She believed him. Out of all the people she had met, Glenn had gone out of his way to be kind to her and she felt comfortable around him. Some sort of trust was developing and that was hard for her to admit. But in times like those, you couldn't exactly take your sweet time in trusting those around you.

"If we tell everyone else, Hershel will kick us out," Arden vocalized, sounding pained at the thought. She wasn't ready to leave and go back out into the chaos of the outside world. Not yet. Glenn nodded at her statement. "What were you doing in the barn anyway?"

Glenn suddenly turned beet red and diverted his eyes away from her face and shrugged a few times. Arden narrowed his eyes and he insisted, "Nothing!" But after a few moments, he cracked just like before. "Okay, Maggie and I...we were going to...you know —"
