Scared Heart [Levi x reader]

Chapter One

It's been years since Corporal Levi and Commander Erwin took me in. I passed Levi's training after two years. It was intense, painful and very difficult. I broke my arm like five different times. He did apologize two of those times. I ignored it, even though it has been three years I was still shocked to have even received those two apologies. Most people would say Levi has a soft spot for me. Sometimes it can be true. I don't get punished as much as everyone else. Also because of those two years that I spent with him I kinda became a clean freak. If we weren't training he would be making me clean. So that's another reason why he doesn't punish me as much. He had even told me about his past. It was sweet how much he trusted me and yeah I'm not going to lie I have a very slight crush on him but what do you expect from me. I did spend two years of my life with him. I am now twenty and it has been six years since my mother had died and I had last seen my siblings. I still am unaware if they are alive or dead. But beside that Erwin put me in Squad Levi till he believe I was old enough to be a captain. Erwin was going to give me the power of a captain without the title but I didn't believe that was very fair of him. I thought that it would make the older soldiers feel bad about themselves because they were being bossed around by at the time a sixteen year old. So Erwin decided instead that when I was twenty I would get the power and then when I am thirty I would get the title.

I only have one problem being in Squad Levi, that they all think they are better then me because they might train more with Levi. We decided I would have one on one training with Levi when everyone else was doing their clean up duties. Oh yeah that was another reason why I don't get cleaning punishments. I was training, anyway I end up getting told by Levi to help tidy his office and attached room. One person out of the entire squad hates me more and that person is Petra. Everyone knows that she likes Levi it's actually kind of funny because she thinks shes hiding it from Levi but shes really not, instead he is always complaining to me about it. Saying how he hates that she always tries to talk to him when hes heading to our training session, or how he hates that shes always trying to sit next to him in the mess hall [which by the way is basically my seat as I'm the only brat that doesn't annoy him]. Or like how shes always offering to help clean his office and attached room. Now that i think about it, shes always trying to help with the things I do with him.

"OI! Brat what are you doing?"
"Oh, sorry Corporal I spaced. Did I miss anything important?"

Levi just shook his head but I know him too well he was shaking his head with it slightly arched towards Petra. It just clicked shes being more annoying then normal, I had to come up with something to get him out of this situation.

"Oh yeah Corporal didn't you say that you needed help with paperwork?" I lightly kicked his leg to hint at him what I was doing.

"Yes. I did. Can you come help me brat?"
I just nodded and stood up waiting for Levi. He also stood up getting ready to leave. When a rather annoying voice popped up "Would you like some help from me instead Corporal?"

"No. Two should be enough, thank you"

The thank you from Levi sound forced again though you would only here it if you knew him well. Petra smiled to herself probably thinking the thank you was real. Anyhow me and Levi were making our way to his office when he suddenly changed course.

"Before you question me for once I haven't got any paperwork so I thought we could just go sit outside like the good old days."

All I could do was nod and smile. My the good old days, the days when we wouldn't have as much to deal with. Yes the titans were still a problem but Squad Levi and paperwork weren't as high of a problem. Back when he used to train me if I did a good job he would let us just sit in the sun afterwards. Or whenever he didn't want to go back inside yet. We use to miss so much because we would be outside. In the end Erwin would have to come out with us to make sure we would come back in if a big meeting or something was going on after training. We used to always involve Erwin in the training somehow. It used to be so much fun. We also used to smile a lot more. Whenever it was does training days you couldn't get a smile off of Levi or Erwin's face. They were the good old days.

We had sat down in our old hideout space. It was funny how one day we had arrived and Levi had explained that he had brought a basket for blankets. it was so he wouldn't have to sit on the dirty floor.

"Hey, Levi do you remember how the first day we found this place and we decided to relax after training you couldn't stop complaining about the dirt?"
"Well can you blame me this place is filthy. If I didn't just want to relax with my favourite brat I would be making you clean."
"I know that's what I find hilarious how you would still make me try to clean dirt. You know dirt. The thing that is everywhere outside. It does make me chuckle." Okay I know I said I was a clean freak, but I was nowhere near as bad as Levi. I don't think it'd be possible.

"OI! Are you going to sit down with me or stand there like a moron. And to think I actually have feelings for this brat." he mumbled the last sentence under his breath.

"Hmmm, what was that Levi?"
"Uhhhh, what was what? I didn't hear anything. I think you might just be imagining things."
"Maybe. Who knows. Anyway how long have we got out here before you have to return to Eyebrows?"
"Until he figures out where we are. So to be completely honest with you, I don't actually know but just enjoy it while you can"
After he said that I just laid back and rested my eyes slowly falling asleep.
