Hey guys! I'm really excited to be writing this book. I really hope y'all enjoy it. Just a disclaimer these updates might be a bit slow. I was planning on doing weekly, long chapters!

Characters:

I envision Oaklynn  (Emma Watson), Nate (Sam Heughan), and Sierra (Claire Holt)

"Johnny, please do not eat the glue!"

I was on my last whim with these kids. Honestly the plan was never to be a preschool art teacher, but plans change when you're broke and your art doesn't sell. I looked over at the kids, most of them were doing what they were supposed to, but Johnny just never seemed to listen.

The truth is, I had to force myself to pay attention to what they were doing or else I wouldn't stop looking at the clock, causing time to pass slower. I guess you could say I'm a little anxious to get home and you'd be right. My hair was matted to my head from the lack of air conditioning in the building and I could hear my stomach grumbling away. Maybe skipping breakfast wasn't the smartest idea.

I start to remember the morning that seemed so long ago. I woke up 20 minutes late and had to rush to make breakfast for Nate and I. I always made breakfast and he always made dinner. In the middle of making our last two blueberry bagels, I got a call from sister Naomi who droned on and on about the lack of recycling at her school, and during her mid rant of "this is why our planet is going to hell", I realized I had burnt both the bagels and was already running late for work.

I quickly ran in the room and kissed Nate goodbye, mouthing a quick "I'm sorry" before rushing out the door still listening to Naomi go on and on. I got in my very old Volkswagon and sped off before saying quick goodbyes to Naomi. Even though I was borderline speeding, it was hard not the enjoy the view on the drive to work. I often admired how beautiful Minnesota was in the summer. The way the lush greenery surrounded the city of Rochester, outlining it perfectly.

I was snapped out of my daydreaming when Johnny came up to my desk complaining of a stomach ache. I sent off to the nurse and then worked on cleaning up the mess around the room. Macaroni, string, and glue were coating every corner of the room. This was going to be fun.

"Alright children! time to pack up to go meet your parents out front. Make sure to put your artwork on the drying racks before leaving and they should be ready to take home by tomorrow." I announced to the children in a tired voice. I had to keep brushing my bangs away due to them sticking to the beads of sweat on my forehead.

All the children rushed quickly to the front of the room, bumping into one another ready to go home. Yeah me too kids. Once everyone was done packing up I led the children to the carpool circle as I did every day. The school walls were pale blue with a few cracks considering it was a pretty old school and the windows brought a slight breeze cooling me down a bit. As I was walking down the hallway I heard a familiar sound, Sierra, my best friend also walking her children to the carpool lane. She quickly spotted me and rushed over, the children slightly lagging behind.

"Hey you," she smiled warmly and bumped my shoulder, "How's domestic living?"

I giggled, she always teased me about getting engaged so young. Her and I were very different in that way, I knew I wanted to get married, start a career, and possibly start a family as quickly as possibly. Sierra on the other hand wanted to live it up as long as possible. She worked as a music teacher at Lily Dale Preschool. We met as undergraduate students through our arts program and have been inseparable ever since.

"It's good" I said with a smile, "just waiting for June to be here already so we can tie the knot."

Sierra pushed her equally sweaty blonde hair from her face, "Oh yeah? I thought you were talking about looking forward to the bomb ass bachelorette party you're getting in June."
