CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR
MARCH 7TH, SATURDAY

BRANDON HYNES

● ● ●

"Bro, I can't believe that I actually said yes to meeting his parents. I'm not even sure if this is a good idea," I said to Zach who was my ride to Tobias's house.

"You're into him, right?"

"Yes. I am."

"Then stop worrying."

"What if his family doesn't like me though? You don't think it's a little too soon? I'm not tryna move too fast or anything."

"Like I said, stop your worrying. Everything will go fine. You're a likeable dude. His family will love you."

"You think so?"

Zach sighed. "Yes. Now get out of my car so I can go back home. I'm not tryna miss my show."

I slapped him upside the head. "Thanks, bitch," I said as I quickly made my way out of his car.

"I'll remember that when you call me to pick your ugly ass up!" Zach exclaimed through the rolled down window.

I didn't bother turning around to him because my mind was too focus on making my way to the door. The door that I was soon gonna walk through to meet Tobias's family.

I had to admit; I was nervous but I was not gonna show it.

I was gonna knock, say my hellos, and be super casual.

"Here goes nothing," I told myself.

I raised my hand and knocked on the door three times.

"I'll get it!" A girl screamed.

"No, Cassandra! Let Tobias get it. It's probably Brandon," I heard an older woman say. It was probably his mom.

"Maybe Cass should get it," I heard Tobias say.

My mind immediately went, no! I didn't wanna be greeted by an unfamiliar face right off the bat. I needed to see Tobias's to bring some sense of comfort to my body.

"Tobias, just go. Stop being a whimp," I heard a boy say. It was probably Mikey. I remembered his name all to well because I thought he was Tobias's boyfriend that one day at the library. Oh, good times.

"Okay. I'm getting it," Tobias said.

I internally went, yes and a big smile made its way onto my face.

"Hi," Tobias greeted with a smile after he had opened the door.

"Hey," I said as I went in for a hug. "How are you?" I asked.

"Good. You?"

"A little nervous, not gonna lie."

"Is that Brandon? The boy you've been talking about?" His mom questioned.

Tobias's face instantly burned red and I couldn't help but laugh at his cuteness.

"Yes. It's him," I said as I made my way inside.
