CHAPTER 03
As we embarked on our journey, the anticipation swirled within me like a gentle breeze, whispering secrets of the unknown that lay ahead. "Where are we headed?" I inquired, the excitement palpable in my voice as we traversed the winding roads.
"You'll soon find out," he replied with a mischievous grin, his eyes twinkling with unrevealed plans.
"Whatever it is, it better be worth the lengthy drive," I retorted playfully, my curiosity mounting with each passing mile.
"We're almost there!" JP exclaimed, his enthusiasm infectious, causing my heart to quicken in anticipation.
When the car finally came to a halt, I gazed out of the window, only to be greeted by the sight of the vast expanse of the sea stretching out before us. A sense of wonder washed over me at the unexpected destination, and I couldn't help but marvel at the beauty laid out before me.
"Surprise!" JP announced, his voice filled with unabashed delight as I turned to look at him, a mixture of astonishment and joy reflected in my eyes.
"What place is this?" I asked, still trying to comprehend the breathtaking scenery that surrounded us.
"It's Piñeda Resort," he replied, a hint of pride evident in his voice.
"It's absolutely stunning here, and the tranquility is palpable," I remarked, my gaze lingering on the serene surroundings.
"Shall we head inside? I've reserved a table for us," JP suggested, and I eagerly followed suit, eager to explore this unexpected oasis.
As we stepped into the resort, we were greeted by a courteous attendant who welcomed us with a warm smile. "Good day, Ma'am and Sir," he greeted us respectfully.
"Lee reservation," JP informed him, his demeanor exuding confidence and excitement.
"Right this way, sir," the attendant said, leading us through a path adorned with delicately scattered petals, a sight that elicited a soft smile from me as I followed in JP's wake, my heart brimming with anticipation.
"Do you like it? Honey!" JP asked, enveloping me in a warm embrace from behind, his voice filled with affection.
"I love it!" I exclaimed, feeling a surge of warmth spreading through my chest at the sheer thoughtfulness of his gesture.
"Thank you for giving me another chance," he murmured softly, his words laced with sincerity and gratitude.
"I love you, and when it comes down to it, what else can I do but follow my heart?" I replied, turning to face him and returning his embrace with equal fervor.
"I love you too," he whispered, leaning in to press a tender kiss to my lips, a silent promise of his unwavering affection.
After our tender embrace, we both paused to catch our breath, the air thick with unspoken emotions.
"You're so sweet," he said, his voice tinged with a hint of huskiness, his eyes alight with adoration as he gazed at me.
"Ma'am, Sir, the food is ready," the waitress interrupted, her gentle voice breaking the spell of intimacy that enveloped us.
We made our way to the veranda, where a beautifully set table awaited us, the tantalizing aroma of freshly prepared dishes wafting through the air, enticing our senses.
"Let's eat," JP suggested, and we indulged in a sumptuous feast, savoring each bite as we reveled in the company of one another.
As we finished our meal, the familiar strains of our theme song filled the air, beckoning us to dance amidst the backdrop of the setting sun and the gentle lull of the waves.
"I love you," JP whispered, his voice soft with emotion as he pulled me close, his eyes locking with mine in a silent declaration of his love.
"I love you too," I murmured, my heart overflowing with love as I melted into his embrace, our bodies swaying in perfect harmony to the rhythm of our love.
As we danced, the lyrics of our song served as a poignant reminder of the depth of our bond, weaving a tapestry of memories and shared experiences that bound us together.
"Honey, I'm sorry for all my mistakes. I know I've hurt you deeply, but I can't bear to lose you," JP confessed, his voice trembling with emotion.
"In our eight years together, I know I've caused you pain time and time again, but you still hold my heart, and I love you more than words can express. I can't imagine my life without you by my side. I hope you won't tire of understanding me," I added tearfully, my voice wavering with raw vulnerability.
"Since high school, we've been each other's lovebirds. I don't even know why I love you, but one day, I just knew that I did. They say love has no reason," JP said, tears glistening in his eyes as he bared his soul to me.
"And I hope your love for me never wavers," I replied, tears streaming down my cheeks as I reached out to brush away his tears, my heart aching with a bittersweet blend of love and longing.
"You're all I ever need, baby. You're amazing. You're my angel, come and save me," we sang together, our voices merging in perfect harmony as we surrendered to the music and the moment.
After the chorus, JP dropped to one knee, his eyes brimming with unshed tears as he produced a small box from his pocket, the glint of anticipation dancing in his eyes.
"Keyah Ayasha Fajardo, will you marry me?" he asked, his voice trembling with emotion as he held out the open box, revealing the dazzling ring nestled within.
"Yes, I will marry you!" I exclaimed, my heart soaring with joy as he slipped the ring onto my finger, sealing our love with a promise of forever.
"Thank you," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion as he pulled me into a tender embrace, his lips seeking mine in a fervent kiss that spoke volumes of his love and devotion.
"I love you so much that I can forgive you," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper as I held him close, my heart overflowing with love and forgiveness.
"I love you more, Hon, and soon you'll be Mrs. Lee," he said, a soft chuckle escaping his lips as he pressed his forehead to mine, a silent vow of his undying love and commitment.
This was the happiest day of my life, a moment etched in time where love triumphed over pain, and forgiveness paved the way for a future filled with promise and possibility. And as I gazed into JP's eyes, I knew with unwavering certainty that our love was indeed worth fighting for, for it was in each other's arms that we found our truest selves, our hearts forever intertwined in a timeless dance of love and devotion.
