Chapter 1: Familiar

-----

Kelcy P.O.V

"Hey miss are you alright? I'm so sorry." tanong ng isang lalaki.

Wait. Do I know this guy?

He was asking me if I'm okay but nakatitig lang ako sa kanya without even noticing that I wasn't even blinking.

"Hey miss. You okay?" Tanong niya ulit, the reason that I came back to my senses.

"Oh sorry. Are you asking me something?" I asked.

"Are you okay?" He asked me again.

"A-ah yeah. S-sorry. "

"No. I'm the one who should be sorry. Again, Im so sorry." he apologized.

"No, it's okay. It was my fault, since hindi ako tumitingin sa dinadaanan ko. " Sabi ko at saka ngumiti. I tried to get up but my butt really hurts. O-ouch!

"Here let me help you." He said while lending me a hand.

Pinulot ko ang nahulog kong phone at saka ko kinuha ang nakaabang niyang kamay sa harapan ko.

Huhu. This is so embarrassing.

"Uhm--t-t-thanks." I said stuttering.

"No problem." He said then smile. Bago siya umalis ay tinanong ko siya.

"Wait. Did we met before?" I asked but he just shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't know. Maybe. " He said then walked away.

I just watched him leaving while wondering. I shook my head when a realization hits me.

Ooh gosh! Meciza!

Nagmamadali akong pumunta sa library even tho my butt hurts.

I searched for Meciza and found her reading a book at the corner. I walked towards her.

"Hey. " I said and patted her shoulder.

"Oh finally you're here." she said. "Bakit bigla mong binaba ang tawag?" tanong niya.

"Right I'm sorry." I apologized. "You see, while I was talking to you. I suddenly bumped into someone. Specifically, a guy. And I accidentally dropped my phone." I explained. "Aaand-- I fell off my butt.." I sheepishly muttered.

"Pfft--what? Is your phone okay?" Meciza asked while keeping herself from laughing.

"Don't laugh." I stopped her. "Seriously? Are you really my bestfriend, Mec? You supposed to ask me if I am okay. Not my phone." I said.

"Pfft-- I'm sorry. So are you okay?" She asked. I rolled my eyes.

"Kinda." I responded.

"And your phone?" She asked again. I sighed.

" I don't know. I haven't checked it yet." I answered. In-on ko ang phone ko para tingnan kung okay pa ba. "Hmm-- it's still working. I think its fine."

"Let me see." Meciza said, so I decided to hand her my phone. She then begin to scrutinized it.

"Nah. I can't see any damage. Except for this thiny whinny crack." She pointed out the crack that forms on the screen. "It's a good thing that it's just a small crack because if it's not--then it's possible that it'll cause damage to your phones lcd." She explained and handed me my phone.

"Aaah--yeah?"

"Huwag mo ihulog ulit yang phone mo." She advised.

"Yeah. Why?" I posed again a question.

Oh no! IT alert! Here we go again.

"Because if a phone is dropped repeatedly it's possible that it can cause issues. Like can cause damaged to earphone or charging sockets, performance issues, lags and also the phone will tend to switch off anytime if you will use it." She explained. "It may affect the camera lens, causing the camera to lose focus, then it will negatively affect the quality of the photos. It can also cause internal damage, because it may cause internal components to collide which may result in a short circuit." She explained further. "It will generate microfractures on some of the internal components in your phone. And this will have a negative impact on the----"

"Woah stop! I get it." I cut her off because I felt dazed sa kung ano man ang sinasabi niya. Too hard for me to sink it in my very little brain. "Thanks for that information, future IT." I said.

"I'm just saying." She said. "Anyway, who's that guy you were talking about?" She asked.

"Who?" I asked her back.

"That guy you bumped into?" She confusedly ask.

"Oh right. I don't actually know his name. But I think I've met him before. He seems quite familiar." I just answered.

"Really? Would you mind describe him?" She requested.

"I don't know how to describe him but--" I stopped for a while. "Well he is tall, has a good looking face. Uhh--he's not that bad. Uhm--I think he's a good guy." I said and looked at Meciza and I saw her perplexed face.

"Yun lang?" Meciza asked and raised her left eyebrow.

"Uhh--Yes? Bakit? May problema ba?"

She shrugged. "Wala naman." sagot niya. "Nakaka-confuse lang ang pag-describe mo sa kanya. I mean--there's a lot of guys out there which is tall and handsome."

"Eerr--hindi naman talaga ako tumingin sa kanya. I'm too embarrassed." I said and shook my head after I realized something.

Oh right. I actually looked at him.

"How can you say that he is handsome or tall or something like that if you didn't look at him?" She asked. "Anyways nevermind. Hmmm---What if you will see him again?"

"I don't know. Hindi ko nga alam kung maaalala niya pa ako kung sakaling magkikita kami ulit." Paliwanag ko. "But if he will. Ano naman ang sasabihin ko? Hey what's your name? Ganern? " I jokingly said.

"Something like that." She said then grin.

"Oh shut up." I said and smile. "Besides, that's very impossible." I added.

"It's not impossible, Kels. I know that someday you will see each other again." She said while smiling. "Just like--" She paused for a while. She then snapped her fingers. "Oh right...Destiny." she said in a low-pitched voice.

"Destiny mukha mo!" I scoffed.

"Bakit? Hindi ka naniniwala sa salitang destiny?"

"I do believe in destiny. Pero ayokong mag-assume no! At isa pa. Imposibleng mangyari sa'min yon."

"Malay mo diba." She said. I sighed and shaked my head.

"Tigilan mo na nga yan. Lets borrow some books at uwi na tayo. Malapit nang gumabi oh." pag-aya ko kay Meciza at saka siya hinila papunta sa bookshelf.

Pagkatapos ay hiniram na namin ang napili naming libro at saka kami umuwi.
