Because Of You

Road Trip-Chapter Eight

It was a warm outside and I didn't know it, but Michael was gonna surprise me with a road trip to a place that he'd never been to before.

"It's a place called 'Holiday World' and they always have a waterpark open everyday in the summertime". He smiled as I was sitting down in his lap. I was very excited. But also a little bit nervous too.

"Daddy, I don't want the people there to try and hurt you". I hugged him as he was packing a backpack for me to carry on my back that had all the essentials.

"Oh, it's okay my darling. It will be fine. Lots of kids and their families are gonna be there and I can promise you that we'll have a good time out there. Just wait and see". He picked up his legal goddaughter up and sat her down on the bed.

I laughed and playfully booped him on the nose. Michael let out a giggle and then his cellphone rang.

"Wait here. I'll be right back". He waved at me with a smile and I snickered, waving at him back.

Michael answered the call and then he was heard his mother's voice.

"Hey Mom! It's so good to be talking to you. How are you and my brothers and sister doing today"?

I listened carefully to hear what they had to say. "Yes, I'll definitely meet you there. See you there my brothers".

"See ya there little brother"! His brothers exclaimed excitedly.

After a few minutes, Michael came back into the bedroom and then he plugged his cell phone into the travel size charger.

"Okay, so what important essentials do you want to bring"? He watched as I picked up my favorite stuffed animal, which was a solid black kitten.

"Good, you put her in the backpack. I packed plenty of sunscreen to put so we'll be protected from the sun's rays. And some water bottles in case we get thirsty, it's supposed to be a little bit warmer today".

He smiled as I put his prescribed medication that Michael used to cover up his Villitgo skin patches. I was always comfortable with seeing his Villitigo when he was applying his special cover up lotion that he put on all over his body except his baby making area.
