Part 6 "Keep You Safe"

Chanyeol

I awoke in the middle of the night to hear screaming. I quickly turned to my side. It was Baekhyun. He was screaming and thrashing around on his bed, breathing heavily. Eventually he bolted up. He was crying, hard. He sobbed and choked on his breath as he looked around, terrified. It didn't take me long to realize that he was having a panic attack.

  I turned on the lamp beside my bed, causing him to jump. He was sweaty, and looked absolutely horrified. I stood up and walked over towards him, sitting on his bed and bringing him closer to me. He fell into my arms as his body shook violently. I rocked him back and forth and caressed... everything. His back, his neck, his chest, V-line and tear stained face.

"Shh, Baek it's okay... you're okay" I whispered as he began to calm down. I ran my fingers through his soaking wet hair and held him tightly.

"C-Chanyeol..." he cried and grabbed a hold of my shirt, burying his face in my chest.

"What happened Baek?" I asked, my voice coated with concern. He looked up at me, tears threatening to fall once again.

"They... they w-were trying to k-kill.. it" he whispered with shaky breath.

"Who? Trying to kill what?" I asked, getting more worried by the second.

"The- the dog... I had to d-do something.. and then they... they chased me" he broke into a fit of sobs again.

"I ran.. b-but I wasn't fast enough... and they..." he trailed off. I patiently waited for him to continue.

  "They k-killed me... they beat me a-and.. tortured me... Chanyeol it felt so r-real..." he cried louder and harder. I felt sorry for him. I didn't want him to be scared like this.

"It was just a dream Baek.. they can't hurt you, I promise" I smiled reassuringly at him. He smiled back, weakly. I then got into his bed, pulling him down beside me and wrapping us in the thick blankets. I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him close to me before whispering.

"I'll keep you safe..."
