Run.

The second she heard the snap of a twig being split in two, that's when she took off like a bat out of hell, swerving around trees to get the hell away from whatever's chasing her. Y/N should have known better than to take yet another brisk walk in those very woods her overprotective parents always warned her about, having always told stories that Willbury lurked dangerous werewolves who could sniff out a human's scent from miles away. She never believed them, of course, they were just stories to sway her from ever stepping foot into that forest. But as a curious young and freshly eighteen-year-old girl with a love for nature, Y/N had always been called to the wondrous trees of the night, having snuck out her bedroom window. Something in the back of her mind told her she needed to be there, she wasn't sure what, but who the hell was she to resist temptation? Well, now she regretted it, because for sure something had been lurking around her for a while now, watching her every move.

It was probably just a bear or something. Werewolves don't exist.

Her lungs desperate for air and legs for a break, Y/N hid herself behind a large trunk of a tree and panted for breath. Her body was trembling with fear, and she tried to blame all the woodland noises surrounding her on her paranoia—but how could she explain the low sound of growling that grows louder every time it's owner took a step closer? It was definitely a bear, a hungry one at that, or maybe just an actual wolf.

Except something deep down told her it was something else.

She tried to stay as quiet as she could, her body remaining still as possible so not to make any sudden movements. The growling of the creature had ceased but she could still hear its heavy breathing, taking step after step as though it was preparing to prey on her any second now. Y/N places her palms flat against each other, praying to whatever God out there to lead her out of this very situation alive, or to die painless. A part of her wants to think this was all some horrifying nightmare but it all felt too real for her to even consider that. She does make a mental note, however, to not return to these woods if she were to escape without bodily harm.

The air goes thick with silence, the breathing from the mysterious animal had stopped and that's when she let out a sigh of relief. Perhaps it had found another creature to feast on, and deemed her unworthy of a meal. Y/N stands up a little straighter from her crouching position, taking a step back so she could actually find her way home, when she collides into something hard behind her. Her heart falls and she goes to let out a scream, when a hand clamps down on her mouth and removes all ability for her to make noise. There's a warm breath panting against her neck, making her tiny hairs stand up with fright.

Whatever stood behind her now, had her—and was not planning to let her leave.

Tears began forming in the corners of her eyes when she is slowly rotated around, her head looking up to not meet a bear, in fact—but a man. A young man at that, who seemed to be around her age but a little older. His dark brown hair was parted and curled slightly down his face, chiseled of bone structure that included a sharp jawline. His lips were pink and plump, tongue rolling out to swipe against them, and his eyes... Those eyes. They were a bright yellow, two black slits inside them that made her realize this dude was totally not completely human.

"Who are you?" Y/N asks shakily, when he drops his palm from her mouth.

The man doesn't answer, instead, his tall and lean form bends forward and his sniffs with his nose, nostrils flaring as he inhales a whiff of her floral perfume. Almost in an instant his slits dilated into much darker, large pupils that made the pit of her stomach crumble into more pieces. His arms now wrapped around her waist tightly to ensure she wouldn't be going anywhere, the man softly growls and lowers his lips to exposed skin of her neck. That's when he finally spoke, in a deep, raspy tone.
