Chapter 1

It hasn't been easy ever since her parents died. Since then, she turned back from her past, turned against everything that reminded her of it. But in a way, her past always managed to catch up to her. Their death began a new chapter for her, one she couldn't perceive quite well. Sorina could still picture them lying in their own pool of blood. Even at 22 the tragic memory was hard to erase.

Sorina looked up at the ceiling from the grey sofa she was sitting on. She was exhausted after a long tedious day at the office to top it, she had a strong concussion going on. Sorina released her breath standing and walking into her bedroom towards the bathroom. She faced her image in the mirror front of her and saw the dark circles underneath her eyes due to her staying up most of the nights. Sleep was one thing she rarely got , when all she saw was her deceased parents and a pair of unknown purish blue eyes, she preferred not to. She shut her eyes and opened them looking at her dark brown eyes that had a shade of red. Her brown hair tied into a bun.

She opened the cabinet and took out her bottle of pills for her headache, it was empty. She groaned returning the empty bottle and walked out, heading back to her room. She sat on the bed getting ready to turn in for the night when she suddenly had the doorbell, Sorina rose annoyed dragging herself to the door. A man in black stood their, he was in glasses and a bobble hat. She could see a glint of red behind the dark glasses but then it could also be her eyes playing tricks on her.

"Can I help you?" She asked benevolently.

"Are you miss Alcoff ?"

"Yes may I know who's asking?" She was wary of him.

"I'm an agent, you work at the Central Company?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Please come with me," his voice held a little impatience, he looked down at the petite woman in front of him, Sorina was contemplating whether or not to go, all she wanted to do was go back to her bed and hopefully get some sweet sleep, "it's important miss Alcoff," he said adamant on his words.

"Okay," she shut the door behind her following the mysterious agent as he led the way. They exited the building and walked into the dark streets towards an alley, Sorina surveyed the alley, it was dark and quiet she saw a cat run away after a glance from the agent, she rubbed her hands blowing warmth into them, she pulled her sweatshirt covering her hands, the alley was creeping her out. She felt alarmed, something wasn't right, "where are we heading to?" Nothing, he dismissed her question earning a frown from her, she stood tangling her hands, "until you tell me, to hell with you" she turned to walk back tracking her way back. On her way, Sorina felt a gush of wind pass her, she halted shocked, the agent was facing her eyes red? A malicious smile plastered on his face sending a cold chill rundown her spine, her neck hair standing, "you...what a..r..e who are you...?" She stammered.

"Your worst nightmare," he growled, before she could digest his words, someone placed a cloth on her face preventing her from breathing and scream. She dug her nails into his skin only leading to him holding her tightly. She felt herself start to loose consciousness letting the darkness consume her.

Sorina weakly opened her eyes her vision fuzzy, her head throbbed in pain her concussion stronger. She groaned in pain through the clothing gagging her, blinking, she tried to make out her surrounding but it was all dark. She was in a moving object, maybe a car. She tried to stretch her legs but the walls were congested. She squirmed knocking the trunk.

She drew her attention to her hands tied behind her. She struggled trying to free her hands from the tight ropes, grunting, she held on the stinging pain as she freed them from the grip. Successfully freeing her hands she felt her rubbed them, they were sore. She took off the cloth on her mouth. Sorina hit the trunk banging it screaming for help till she felt the car come to a sudden stop.

Her heart raced alarmed, she was laying in the trunk kidnapped by dangerous men. She had a click sound from out. Before the trunk could fully open, she kicked it hard making it fly up knocking the agent. She used the chance and got out running into the dark forest to avoid being a perfect target.

All her life she tried keeping her past behind her, had the best hideout, a paying job, an affordable apartment a normal life but now, it was all gone. They came for her just like they did her parents and yet deep down, she knew they had not really come for them. They had come for her. And her parents died, died protecting her. Her past was agonising and frightening. She was scared of everything, Sorina knew she wasn't normal, she hasn't ever been, as hard as she tried, she stood out.

Being an outcast, she always kept to herself, didn't trust anyone to let them in. Alone she has always been, no where else to go, but she knew what to do, run! She was really good at it, run from anything that would cause her pain. Run from those that seeked her soul.
