Red shadow.. that was his name

Demon..

Monster..

Thief..

Murderer..

His body.. not his own

He ran through the woods. His scaled wings too hurt to carry him, his breath fast. He was scared; lost, alone in an icey forest. And he was cold. Colder than he'd ever felt before, the wind biting at his skin, every step felt like needles stabbing into him.

"Fire.." he thought. He needed fire, or he was sure to die. Red tried using magic, concentrating on wood nearby; it flickered, sparked for a second.. then it went out, with the hope he had.

--------------------------
Black Ice.. that was her name

Alone..

Demon..

Cold..

Insane..

Her body.. not her own

She sat in her home, alone. She couldn't remember the last time she'd met another living thing. But, that was fine. She liked being alone, she had the voices in her head to keep her company.

She stayed, watching the snow outside; her ideal environment, her scaled wings wrapped around herself. It was perfect, isolated perfection. Just then she heard a knock, followed swiftly by a loud crash.

-------------------
Red walked aimlessly among the ice and snow. The tall trees, making the sky impossible to see. The forest was likely to take his life; send him back to hell where he'd have to find a new host. There was no way he'd get as lucky again, his host was some prince of shadows or something. One of many, the shadow rose kingdom.

"Dammit.." he muttered to himself. If he had played his cards right he'd have an army at his command, the 2nd largest among shadows; the shadow rose kingdom, strongest army, great mages.. that was his downfall.. he should have been more careful. Just as Red thought that, he noticed a structure of some sort. Ignoring all pain, every wound he ran to it. He knocked on what he assumed to be the front door, just before he passed out.

----------------------

Black Ice looked at the door, confused "who the hell.." she thought. She stood up, deciding to open the door. She noticed the demon slumped on her porch. "What's a fire type doing out here?"

She decided to bring him inside, setting him on the couch. Black Ice watched the demon, wearily. Why she let him in was beyond her. It was stupid, but she had to let him in? Maybe he put a spell on her before he fainted? It could be-

"where am I?" He interrupted her thoughts

"My house."

"How'd I get here?" He rubbed his eyes.

"You were unconscious on my porch.."

"Oh, I remember now." He attempted to stand, quickly falling back onto the couch. He stopped dazed, for a second.

"Wouldn't recommend that.."

"Right, I'm Red Shadow. Most people just call me Red."

"Black Ice.." she watched the demons every move.

"Got anything to drink? I'm parched!"

"There's some tea, over there." She gestured towards a tea kettle; to which Red stared at her blankly.

"I can't stand." He said, unimpressed.

"Oh, right.." she stood, to get the demon tea.

-------
"Here you go."

"Thanks!" He quickly drank the tea. Black Ice watched him, expecting him to fall over, he smirked.

"Did you think that would work?" He paused, chuckling a bit, "Sleeping pills? Really?"

"I.." Red looked at black ice, his mismatched eyes meeting hers. His red eye seemed to have fire in it.

"Come on then, kill me!" He laughed, "I can't fight back anyway!" Black Ice stared at the seemingly insane demon. She didn't know how to respond, never had her prey done this before.

Red spread his wings, his smile only growing. "Come on then!" His insane laughter, filling the room, "Kill me."  The two demons stared at each other, whoever looked away lost. Neither wanted to lose. When something hit the roof, both looked away.

"Don't touch anything.."  She left the house.

Red let his wings relax, he wasn't ready to die. He didn't want to return to hell, it was well hell. He hoped his insane actions would confuse the ice demon enough for her to let him live. "It was just a bird," black Ice said.

"Ah, ok." Both went silent for a second. "Is there a spare bedroom or something?"

"Yeah.. the second door on the right."

"I can't walk"

"Right.." she stretched out her wing to help him.

"For an ice demon you're really warm."

"Do you want me to let you fall..?"

"No."

"Then shut up.." She led him to her spare room. "Goodnight." She left him on the bed, and locked the door.

"Night.." He said, alone. "She locked me in here" he thought. "I should sleep, but what if she attacks me? Maybe I'll die? But at the same time I can't heal properly without sleep," he thought; deciding sleep would be worth the risk he drifted into a nightmare.

Red Shadow fell through a seemingly endless void, after what seemed like forever he met the ground. He somehow managed to stand, looking around he saw nothing. It was just an endlessly black room. That's what he thought anyway, when the shadows began to move ."No.." he backed up.The shadows that had grown a mind began chanting.

"His fault"

"He did it"

"Monster"

"Kill him"

"Murderer"

"Murderer"

"Murderer"

"Murderer!" They grew louder.

Their voices distorting more, and more.

A figure rose among them. Shadow play, the owner of the body he was using.

"Hello, Red."

"Shade!" He backed up.

"What've you done?" He stepped forward, "you started a war.. ripped apart my kingdom, and you run away."

"Yeah. What're you gonna do?" Red said, stepping towards the shadow.

"I'm going to rip you apart. I'm going to make every night hell for you." Shade laughed and the shadows swarmed Red, leaving him in pure darkness. Their red eyes occasionally peeking through, just staring at him.

Shade pulled out a sword, moving towards Red 'till they were inches apart. He proceeded to cut into Reds wing, moving through the flesh until it was useless; he ignored the screaming. And continued.

"Just a dream.." Red thought. He would be fine, "just wake up!"
