The sirens blared on the way to the hospital. My mom sat behind my head stroking my hair trying to comfort me. "Sarah sweetheart, its mom. Can you hear me? Baby, we're almost to the hospital. Honey your going to be fine. I love you!" and that's the last thing i remember hearing.
Once again i woke up. Only this time in what seemed like a hospital room. Not a normal one however. This one was full of vibrant colors. Children drawings plastered the wall. I glanced over to the hall way to see my mom talking to three doctors. She looked panicked. She glanced at me and ran to my side.
"Oh Sarah, I was so worried. You've been asleep for two days. Do you remember anything at all?" My mother looked hopeful. I laid there trying to recall anything that had happened in the past 3 days. I remember crying on my bed. I remember listening to my mom yell to someone on the phone. I had no clue what had happened.
"Um. Not really. What did happen mom?" I asked as she began to cry. "Sarah honey, you tried to commit suicide. I found you unconscious on your bed. The paramedics rushed you to the hospital and they had to do surgery. You were in an induced coma for a day and a half. They tried waking you up thismorning, but nothing happened. Baby i was so worried you wouldn't wake up."
After the word suicide came out of my mothers mouth i stopped listening. Now, not only would i be known for the freaky girl at school, but now the suicide girl. I started crying and my mom hugged me. Trying to comfort me she asked what was wrong. The only thing I could utter was "Why did you have to find me?"
My mother reacted like i was some alien monster that tried to attack her from under the bed. She practically flew across the room against the wall. "Sarah, what are you talking about? You wanted to die? It was only one bad day baby! You're going to make a full recovery and be ok." I glared at the woman in my room. How could she say i would be fine? My life was over.
Recovery wasn't going to be easy. My mom and my doctors wanted me on suicide watch. I had a nurse come into my room every 20 minutes to make sure i wasn't strangling myself in the sheets or anything. I had to make a plan.
