Ever since the age of 9 I knew that I wanted to be a long distance runner.

I have run for my secondary school a few times and I have always got a second place or 1st place medal. But this was the real thing I was in the Olympic stadium. It amazed me at how big a stadium could be. The fans in their seats their eyes fixed on the track waiting for the race to start. A voice boomed over a microphone and introduced me and the other athletes. Soon after the same voice boomed over the microphone "On your marks he said Set" and then the gun fired. The wind swept through my hair as I jogged around the track. After what seemed like ages I saw the finish line sprinting as fast as I could I ran through the finish line. I've done it I've came 1st I've got the gold medal. The crowd roared with delight. Cameramen flashed images of me smiling with glee. Then a man named Jonathon led me over to the podium to collect my medal. It was surprisingly heavy. I still can't quite believe that I've actually got the gold medal.
