------------------------------

Saint was positively frazzled, no, terrified. There seemed to be sweat pouring out of every orifice of his body. He hoped desperately that the day would not require him at any point to remove his suit jacket because he was 100% sure his dress shirt was soaked. Did he put on enough deodorant, should he put on more cologne, was there something stuck in his teeth? His brain was spinning at full nervous top speed and he felt if he opened his mouth butterflies would swarm out.

"Oh well," he thought to himself. "At least I'll only have one first day. It will get easier from here, right?"

Poor Saint, if he could see the future he might have turned and ran right there. Instead, he pushed forward with a false sense of determination. He was about to start a new chapter of life after graduating and become one of the cogs in the wheel of an engineering firm. His classmates had all wanted to join him for they had heard all the praises of the company but alas the company had been very selective and only Saint had gotten a position. He still wondered how his averageness had outshone that of his classmates but he was none the less thrilled about getting the job. He was just *cough* very nervous and in his nervousness, he didn't notice that he reapplied his cologne about half a dozen times as he walked. He only stopped when the strength of the smell made him sneeze and he nearly dropped the bottle. Well at least now he didn't have to worry about smelling bad, he would instead feel like he was triggering everyone's allergies.

Pulling down and smoothing out his jacket, he put on his friendliest smile and walked through the door of the gleaming office tower. He strode as confidently as possible to the front desk and made his greetings.

"Hi, excuse me. My name is Saint, I'm one of the new hires as a Junior Engineer."

"Ah, yes!" The receptionist replied."What is your full name, please?"

"Saint Suppapong Udomkaewkanjana."

"One moment please." A filing cabinet draw rattled open and the receptionist flipped through the contents. "Here we are. You must wear this badge at all times around your neck, photo and name side out. It is also an electronic key card used to go through the turnstiles and access some other areas of the building if and when you are given access. If you should happen to lose the card or it becomes damaged and or no longer works come see us and we will issue you a new one. You are to attend the orientation with the other new hires on the 3rd floor, conference room number seven."

"Thank you very much."

With a shy smile, Saint slipped the badge over his head and trotted off to orientation. He made it through the turnstile first try, which was a relief, considering the swarm of impatient workers behind him. Then he had to cram into an elevator with said impatient workers but thankfully he only was going to the 3rd floor.

Upon reaching the third floor he was greeted by the sight of another desk and receptionist who just nodded at him and pointed. He assumed he just looked new and that she was pointing to the conference room and followed her pointing finger.

Reaching the conference room there didn't seem to be anyone else there yet except a thin, energetic wisp of a man that sped around the table placing materials on the table in front of every seat.

"Hello!" Saint greeted

"OH! We have an eager beaver! I wasn't expecting anyone to arrive for at least another 15 minutes." Rattled the man.

"I'm sorry, I can go wander around for a bit if I'm in your way." Saint felt even more awkward.

"No, no. It's fine, everything is already in place, we just have to sit and wait. I'm Mild by the way and I work in HR. Nice to meet you ...?" He paused waiting for Saint to introduce himself.

"Ah, yes! My name is Suppapong Udomkaewkanjana but you can just call me Saint."

"Oooh, the infamous Saint."

"Pardon?"

"Oh, nothing in particular." Mild wiggled his eyebrows in exaggeration. "By the way Saint, I doubt you smell that bad that you need to take a bath in your cologne bottle. How about we do not do that tomorrow, hmm? You're like an obnoxious bunch of flowers, pretty to look at but horrendous on the allergies."

Saint gave an awkward chuckle. "Sorry P'Mild, I'll remember that for tomorrow."

"Good, now don't take offense if no one sits beside you today. They'll warm up to you tomorrow when you're less obnoxious smelling." Mild stated with a wink.

Soon the other new hires started to trickle in and give their greetings but true to Mild's words, none of them sat beside Saint. That was until a few minutes before they were to start an energetic ball of fluff came barreling into the room and plopped down beside Saint.

"I'm not late am I?" Saint shook his head. "That's great! I'm Katsamonnat Namwirote but you can call me Earth!" The grinning man looked down at Saint's badge.

"You can call me Saint." He smiled back, he didn't feel as awkward now. Earth was late in arriving and had no choice but to sit with him so he felt less out of place. He seemed to be pretty friendly too. Maybe this day would go smoothly after all.
