"Yes! Of course I want to know the truth." I said
Suse and Angie sighed loudly, looked at each other then back at me. Angie was the first to talk.
"Ok. The truth is that-"
"We're Vampyres." Suse finished quickly.
I stared at them with disbelief in my eyes but as they said Having the whole reading emotion thingy, I could tell they weren't lying.
"You're not lying to me..."
"We aren't lying to you Evie. We are telling you the truth. You can tell."
"Yeah, I can tell. But why wait until now to tell me and you still haven't answered me about why I'm your only chance?"
"Well, we wanted to test your 'gift' out before we tell you. Just to make sure." Angie explained "The 'gift' in being the reading emotions and changing moods."
"Oh, ok. Who do you want me to do it to?"
"Just do it to that sad looking Year 9 over there." Suse answered.
I looked over her shoulder to where she was pointing and (sadly) I knew that kid. He was my next door neighbour.
"So you want me to change his mood from over here plus he isn't sad he's traumatised."
"See you did it again. And yes, we want you to change his mood from here." Angie said
"Ok, well, here goes nothing." I said as I concentrated hard on the boy. At first it didn't work and I heard whispers of 'Keep Trying' and 'C'mon Evie. Remember only chance.'
A few seconds later he looked up and looked completely fine."I did it!?"
"Woop Woop! You did it gurl." Suse said in her girly, outback voice.
"So now you can tell me why I'm your only chance."
"Can we come to your place tonight. Your parents wouldn't mind would they?" Angie asked. Suse punched her in the side secretly and whispered to Angie
"Her parents are divorced and both moved out of the house."
"Oh my gosh Evie I am sooo sorry. It just I didn't know and I thought that they were still married-"
Angie went in blabbering and I don't think she noticed no one was listening until she said
"-Will you forgive me?"
"Of course Angie. And yeah.. I guess.. Sure.. You can come over." I said adding a smile.
Angie's mood changed reluctantly to a happy an overly excited person and before we knew she was dancing around in our little private area.
"Angie. You know that there are security cameras around here. Right?"
Angie stopped dancing immediately and walked off to lunch as if nothing had happened. Me and Suse on the other hand were laughing out heads off. We still felt sorry for her. Well at least I did until Suse changed the subject.
"How come Angie can't read your mind?"
"Huh?"
"Well Angie's got a gift that lets her read minds. I know why she can't read mine, because of my shield around my mind but why can't She read yours?"
"Maybe my mind doesn't have anything to think about so it's always blank." I said doubtfully.
"You might actually be getting somewhere. If it wasn't for the fact that you always think before you speak and act. Plus your brain is always talking to your mind so basically there should be something in your head."
Ok now I was getting lost so I walked off, away from Suse to go find Angie (and get rid of the awkwardness). I found Angie sitting a table but she wasn't alone. A group of boys had ganged up on her teasing her and bullying her. I couldn't put up with that so I used my mood change to set them from mean to nice. As usual it worked and the boys looked at each other asking what they were doing and then jogged back over to their table. I got to Angie and said
"Angie! Are you ok?!"
"Yeah, I'm fine. I guess."
"Perfect! Wait. What do you mean by 'I guess'. Hmm."
"Well Hun, they said I was fat as a hippo. But that's not was bothering me."
"What is it then?" I said trying to change her mood.
"I don't know. I've completely forgotten and weirdly enough I feel happy."
I looked at her with a pleased smile and let her sit there while I went to get some food. When I got there one of the boys that were teasing Angie were there ad I was going to tell him that he shouldn't of done that and then I would've added a few extra words in but. I don't know what happened. It was like someone else in the room had changed my mood from angry to.. Well I don't know really. Something along the lines of perfect. But I knew something was wrong so I rushed back over to Angie and Suse (who had gotten back from her laughing fit) and asked them,
"Did you feel that?"
"Feel what?" Suse said
"It was like, I was about to talk to that guy about what he did to Angie but then my mood changed and I wasn't using my so called 'gift'."
"That can't be right." Angie said "That means there's another Vampyre in this room." She whispered low enough so only me and Suse could hear.
"Who do you think it is?"
