Ice Cold

Chapter 22

Levi took a glance at his calendar and there is only a week left before his birthday and Y/n moved away again. All he wish is for Y/n to stay for his birthday.

That's it.
Nothing more and nothing less.

Levi sipped on his tea as he read the news from his phone. In just a day, his newsfeed is filled with the news of the Canadian skaters safely landing their flight. The posts even provide pictures for stronger evidence that the skaters are back in Canada. All the pictures contain mostly of the most famous Phoenix.

But her face in the pictures are not the usual face that they usually see. Fake smiles and teary eyes are seen in the pictures. These leads to topics that Levi doesn't want to know.

Levi closed his phone and sat on his couch and just stared at his calendar. He was hoping for Y/n to stay for his birthday or the day before that but of course that didn't happen. There is no need for thinking and planning for his birthday since this year there is no celebration. No celebration for his birthday and Christmas.

For the past few years, he celebrated it with Hanji and others but a lot has happened these days. Hanji, who was the person he always celebrated his birthday with, is going to visit her family for the holiday. Petra and Levi are not in great terms. Oluo is celebrating with his parents as well. Erwin is currently not in Japan. So no celebration at all.

He took a long bath to get his mind off of things. The new Y/n already changed him that is not fine for him. She already made him vulnerable. She opened him up and made him who he is now. The snow started falling two days ago and according to the news, there would be a mild snow storm on December twenty-five, on his birthday. One of the reasons to not celebrate his birthday this year.

Even with the cold winter air, Levi took his coat and his scarf and wrapped it around his neck. He went out to the cold streets of Japan and walked to a grocery store. Once he got there, he got a push cart and went to the alcohol section of the store. He took more than five bottles of Rum and Whiskey. After that he also took five more bottles of beer. He pushed the cart to the register but unfortunately, all cashier lanes are occupied so he was forced to go and fall in line.

Being a famous skater, he can't escape his fans. Although he love his fans, he hated people gathering around him. That's why he always wear masks and shades, but now he wasn't feeling the need to bring something to cover his face. A fan approached him and asked for a picture, he accepted and took a picture with them. "Is it true that Y/n is your girlfriend?"

"No."

"Then what is she to you?"

"She's my friend." Levi was asked a bunch more questions but he declined. The fan thanked him and walked away.

When it was his turn to pay. He quickly paid the cashier before carrying all the bottles. Even though Levi was short, his body is lean and he sure can carry weights. He rushed back to his apartment and put away all the bottles, except for one. He poured himself a cup of whiskey and took some of his bleach.

He is doing it.

He walked out of his closet with a white handkerchief covering his nose and mouth, and another white handkerchief around his head to keep his hair away from his face. He took a big gulp of the whiskey from his glass and breathe out.

He kneeled to the ground and started to scrub his apartment tiles. He roughly scrubbed the tiles until he could see the silhouette of himself on the clean tile, taking a gulp of the whiskey once in a while.

Midnight came and Levi was finally done cleaning his floor. He was crawling to his fridge to get a bottle of beer after finishing a bottle of whiskey all by himself. He opened the beer bottle while holding a picture on his other hand. He drank half of his beer in one breath. His red flushed face looked at the picture in his hand and chuckled to himself. "You left me again." He finished his beer and leaned on his fridge. In no time, his legs gave up and he slid down the fridge. He sat on the floor as he looked at the picture for the last time before his vision turned black.

Levi woke up laying on the cold, clean floor with the picture on his chest. He slowly sat up and immediately, his had started pounding. He held his head and slowly stood up to heat up some water for his tea. "F*ck this hang over." He groaned and sat on his kitchen chair. He waited for the water to boil and made his tea. As he take a sip of his tea, he saw the picture of Y/n and him when they were little, laying on his kitchen floor. He took it from the floor, almost falling over because of dizziness. He sat back on his chair and just stared at the picture.

That is how his everyday life became before his birthday, atleast he got some friends to celebrate End year or New year.

Maybe after that, he could change and be himself again.

Maybe forget about Y/n.

Just maybe.
