Chapter 1

Layne Ulter

Layne isn't a soriety girl, she isn't popular. She is nice, kind, loving and loyal. Layne is drawn into the popular because of her popular boyfriend Alex. He tries to help Layne with her confidence and her self esteem and help her with her shyness. They make a perfect couple for the whole school. Even with rumors and secrets between them.

Alex Gaskarth

Alex is the popular, lead boy of the football team. He just happened to fall for the cute, sh, nerdy girl in his math class (and pretty much all other classes). He is a loyal, kind boyfriend. And just kind in general. Although 2 years into their relationship he started to question his feelings for her. He still loves her and always will...but he doesn't know if he will continue to love her in the way he did before.

Jack Barakat

Jack was new after he was bullied and left his old school. He was getting bullied for a lot of things. His sexuality, his smarts, his music taste, his ability to NOT show his feelings and more. These are just the main reasons. He got hurt, physically and emotionally. He starts the new school and his shyness keeps him in the dark. That's what attracts Alex to him.

Layne's Point Of View

Walking through the school like normal everyday, hand in hand with the best guy I have ever known. Stares from everyone as we walk. I am so happy, I love it, I love him. He's so protective and caring of me. He walked me to my first class and kissed me on the cheek I blushe and walked into classs. I took one step into the classroom and everyone stared and started to make light talk between them still staring at me. I felt uneasy. This never happened before. I shook them off and walked to my seat up the back next to my friend Tayla. I sat down and my phone buzzed.

Tayla: Did you do it?

I looked at the text confused. I had no clue what she was talking about. I turned to look at her with an eyebrow raised. The whole class went silent as the teacher walked in and Tayla texted me back.

Tayla: Cheat on Alex? DId you? Because it's going around the whole school saying so

Great a new rumour that is going to devour me. I hated them. Every month a new rumour came along. I would never cheat on Alex, I loved him too much to do so. I just sighed and looked to the front of the class. This was going to be an interesting day.

Alex's P.O.V

I dropped Layne off to class and then went to my own. I caught up with my best mate Zack.

'Hey man.' I said as I caught up with him.

'Uh hey dude.' He said softly.

''Whats up?' I asked as we walked to class.

'Don't you know?' I raised an eyebrow at him.

'Know what?' I asked extremely confused.

'That she cheated on you with Nick Fresca.' I sighed and rubbed my temples.

'Who said it?' I said as we got to class.

'Its all over school dude. They said she did it with him on Thursday night.' I sighed again and sat in my seat. It was a rumour. It had to be. Well of course it was. She was with me on Thursday. I clenched my fists under my table and tried to breathe. I had to wait until this class finished before I went after Nick and found out the truth behind his "little" story.

Jacks P.O.V

I woke up late to my mum running up the stairs and pounding on my door.

'Jack get up! I have to drive you to school still! You're already late!' I groaned and dragged my self out of bed. 'Good, downstairs in ten minutes so I can take you to school.' Mum said again and walked out. I stood up and walked over to my dresser where I got out an outfit to wear and changed into it. I grabbed my shoes and put them on and grabbed my bag and started to walk down to wherever mum was. I stopped halfway to look at my hair. For bed hair it looked good. My hair looked good all the time but for bed hair it was amazing. I continued to walk and found mum standing by the door with her hands on her hips and a scowl across her face. 

'What did I do now?' I groaned.

'You are five minutes late and your hair is a mess. I guess it doesn't matter. Hurry up and get in the car. I need to get you to school.' I nodded at my mum and walked outside to the car. I got in it and she drove me to school. We arrived at school and I quickly jumped out of the car and went inside to the main office. I walked through the corridors to the office and at first I thought everyone was staring at me as I walked along the sides but when I turned I saw that they were looking at these two people walking down the hall hand in hand. They looked happy. An emotion I have yet to register. I was unable for some reason to register any emotion. Well I mean I could but it was really difficult and I had only registered sad, mad and confused. I found myself staring at the couple too. Then I felt I hand grab my shoulder and twist me around. I looked up at the person in a suit who had turned me around to face him.

'Are you new boy?' I struggled to say anything so I just nodded. 'Thought so.' He let go of me. 'Follow me son.' I nodded and followed him to his office by the look of the room. 'Name?' He asked as we got into the room.

'J-Jack.' I managed.

'Last name too.' The man sighed.

'B-Barakat.' I said softly and the man nodded.

'Welcome Jack. I am your principal. Mr Goode.' I nodded and he begun going through his drawers for something. He eventually pulled out a piece of paper with a timetable on it. 'This is your class list. Now please go to your first class. If you have an issue don't fret to come back here and tell me. Now leave.' I noddded grabbed my sheet and walked out. I looked at my class list. MATH - MRS OARSEA. This was going to be a long day.
