☆ Chapter Two ☆

Breezecatcher pushed her way through the ivy and into the warriors den. 'Good evening Eagleclaw.'

The tom just tipped his head respectively. Breezecatcher lay down near by to him. 'Something wrong?'

'No.'

'Ok,' she paused, 'You know you can tell me.'

His ice blue eyes rested on her. 'I'm just stunned by Thornclaw's death. It was very sudden.'

Breezecatcher blinked in suprise. Eagleclaw was not really one that would get upset, or even share his emotions. Breezecatcher just smiled a wobbly smile.

'You were good friends am I correct?'

He just humphed agreeingly. Breezecatcher shuffled over to him. Her pelt pressed againced his.

He turned in suprise. His blue eyes widening as he stared at her one dark green eye. The other had been lost to a fight with a fox when she was an apprentice.

Then he berryed his face into her messy black fur.

Wet tears matted Breezecatchers fur, but she didn't even care. She just sat there, a little stunned but happy. Happy, because Eagleclaw trusted her again.

They had been 'friends' since kits. Rolling around, play fighting. Eagleclaw always won. But that had never mattered.

Even throught apprentiship they worked together. Their mentors giving one another knowing looks.

But it had been that night. With the fox.

'Pst, Breezepaw!'
Blinking she had sat up.
'Eaglepaw. What are you doing up?'
'Wanna do a spot of midnight hunting?' He had said.

Their paws were soon skiming over the soft grass. 'I found this one good place to hunt, its near a fox's set but the fox will be asleep now'
'Ok! This is so exciting...'

They reached the spot with no difficulty. After a bit they separated off to go hunt in separate areas and met up once they had caught something.

'You caught anything?'

'One mouse,' Breezepaw's muffled voice said.
'Ok, lets head back. The birds are already cheeping.'
Suddenly a snarl rose up from behind them. A pointed broze snout pushed its way through the brush.
'Fox! Breezepaw run!' shouted Eaglepaw.
Breezepaws eyes opened in fear as the fox lunged towards her.

After that Eaglepaw had pushed Breezepaw away from him. He blamed himself because of her wound. He didn't want to hurt her again.

They lost their close bond that they had. Breezecatcher had been lonly in the following moons. She had lost her closest friend.

She smiled at the sobbing tom. He lifted his head, Breezecatcher stared at him.

Eagleclaw blinked in curiosity, tears making scope's in his eyes.

Breezecatcher pushed her head towards his and their noses touched.

'I've missed you a lot Eagleclaw...'

Eagelclaw hestitated for a second before fresh tears filled his eyes.

'I've missed you to Breezecatcher. Never leave my side again.'

'I won't don't worry.'

Outside stars filled the dusky sky. A few flickered, signaling a new chapter on the cats journey.
