Living at an orphanage and being here was never my plan. I never knew who my parents were and what they did. Whenever I asked Miss Amy about them, she would always say they were nice people and pretty well known doctors. She told me they died in a plane crash from Spain. I was only 4 years old when they died. During their trip, I was home with my nanny, Miss Chen. She never liked me, but I always tried to make her like me. Miss Chen would always act like a good nanny in front of my parents, but never in front of me. She told me to clean some parts of the house and all of that.
When she found out my parents died, she quickly put me on the steps of Miss Amy's Orphanage. I was the first child to come to Miss Amy's Orphanage. Miss Amy never had a husband. So, she decided to open up her own orphanage. The orphanage is a big, but cozy home. Miss Amy was my favorite person on earth after the plane crash. She helped me with everything. She is the same as she was 12 years ago. I still miss my parents, but Miss Amy has always been a parental figure for me.
When I was around 14, new kids came in. There were only 3 of them. Emma, the oldest, who was 7 years old. Camilla, who was 6 years old. And Mateo, who was 5 years old. The girls were sad but excited to live here. They didn't have a very good past. But Mateo, he is a different story. He was so scared, he wouldn't come out of his room for 3 days. But now that he is 7, he has changed a lot. I bet he's going to be a ladies man when he is older. He has the bluest eyes someone has seen. And the prettiest blond hair ever.
Camilla has very thick and long brown hair. She has these big brown eyes that everyone loves. Emma is this girl who amazes me everyday. She can read and write very well for her age. Emma has long, curly, red hair and big grey eyes. She truly is a beauty for her age.
Me and the girls are always trying to get Miss Amy a wonderful man for her, but she always says no to the dates. I wonder why. She has a gorgeous figure that can put men to their knees. Her face is perfect. She has big brown eyes and long dirty blonde hair that everyone adores. And she manages to keep all of that up to date when she's 42. But her confidence is what amazes me. I want to walk with my head held up high and to not be scared to ask someone for help. That's what amazes me about her the most.
Miss Amy always tells me to make some friends and hang out, but I always tell her no, that I need to help her with the kids. But she says she got's it. Miss Amy was always concerned for me, always seeing that I had very low self esteem and always looked for flaws in myself. She would always try and get me to talk with a therapist about it, but I don't want to. I'm very grateful for the things she has done for me and the kids, but she and nobody can change the way I look at myself.
Miss Amy says I have the perfect figure and face (which I totally don't believe). She always says I have the smallest waist, the perfect legs, and that my face always makes people do double takes on me. But I always ignore that. Whenever I go to the store for chores, I never bother to look for attention. I am always keeping my head down, and ignoring everybody and doing my thing. Whenever me, Miss Amy, and the kids go out, she always sees boys my age looking at me, but I think she's trying to get my self esteem up.
I always loved the kids and taking care of them. Emma, who is now 9 years old, has also taken the step of helping me. She has always helped me cook and look after the kids when Miss Amy was sick or busy. Camilla was the girl who loved to look after our kitten and fix something (if something breaks). And yes we do have a kitten. The kitten's name is Cashmere and was found on the edge of the street after shopping from the grocery store. I luckily didn't have a lot of stuff in my hands and gave him some bread that I picked up from the store. Cashmere quickly came home with me and Miss Amy agreed right away at the sight of him.
Mateo, who is 7, has always been by my side. He always had nightmares, so I decided it was best for him to sleep with me in my bed, so I could be there if he had a nightmare. Mateo is shy just like me. He's very smart and is always trying to see what book I'm reading so he can read it next. Though I help him with the hard words and sentences,he still is a very smart boy.
But as of right now, I'm 16 and I am home-schooled. I hope it stays this way. I always start stuttering when I talk to strangers. I always scold myself in my head when I stutter. Miss Amy is always saying that it's beautiful and I shouldn't be ashamed of myself.
So, welcome to my life!
