A/N: I tried to keep it short so it's only 1656 words. Fluff to the brim. Anyways, Enjoy!
"So this is really happening." Killua manages to choke out, hands clutching his sister's.
"Yeah!" Replies Gon, his fake enthusiastic grin never shifting. "I don't know the next time I'll see you but... I hope we do meet again."
"Yep."
The screaming uncomfortable silence wasn't acknowledged until the younger, strained Zoldyck decided to break the tension.
"Well," she babbles, "it was very nice to meet you! I'm sure brother and I will stumble across you and your father some time."
Shaking his head in agreement, the tanner smiled softly in reassurance. He took hold of Killua's all too familiar hand and shook it in great gratification.
"I owe so much to you. I owe you so much. Thank you, for everything."
Killua simply blushed at the blunt words, nodding before laughing freely at the comment. He felt his heart plummet inside his chest when the Freecss' palm left his own. The warmth of Gon's hand around his painted a dwelling feeling inside his stomach but he ignored it like always.
"Gon—"
Before the Zoldyck could respond, he was cut off with a suffocating hug.
"Seriously!" Gon cried out, his words slurring as he found himself tripping over his own rambling. "I don't know what I'm going to do without you—"
This time, the paler was the one to interrupt.
"Gon. You have to go. Ging isn't going to wait up on you forever. If you continue to linger, you'll never see him again."
The brutal words pressed him towards the reality of the situation and he found himself realizing this wasn't the way he wanted to be separated from Killua. He found himself clinging onto the fact he didn't want the Zoldyck to go despite the circumstances. He didn't care. Gon broke away from the hug and stepped back. Frowning at the outcome, he broke out a cold sweat.
Even so, Gon paced away from the two siblings, heeding Killua's warnings. It was when he looked back and couldn't see the two anymore that he suddenly panicked and ran back, racing past the buzzing crowds to catch up to the familiar silver-haired boy and his younger sister.
"Please don't go..." He muttered, grasping straws at this point figuratively and Killua's arm literally. "At least climb up the tree with me."
"And who'll watch Alluka? She can't climb that high."
"Carry her on your back."
"Gon, you have to go. Please, don't make this harder than it has to be."
"I don't care. Please, don't go."
Killua had just enough of Gon's selfish behavior. He's put up with it long enough and just wasn't about to deal with it anymore. He had someone to look after now. He had a priority and Gon just wasn't one anymore. He's found his purpose and Gon, the very person who was pushing him to look for it, is practically stripping that purpose away from him.
After multiple events, the Zoldyck knows he isn't just some piece of trash that needs to be discarded as soon as it's out of use. He realizes his self-worth, refuses to look down on himself once again and makes sure he doesn't let others push him around. Especially Gon. He promised himself never again.
"Gon. Get off."
The tone used caught the Freecss off guard and startled his sister.
"Killua, please." He begged once more.
