Chapter One~
The first thing I noticed when I came to was how surprisingly comfy the ground was. I scold myself for such a stupid thought when it should have been something more along the lines of, hey, where the hell am I?
As I pushed myself up off the ground I took in the little cube of a room I was in. Or more like cell. The walls were all cement and the door consisted of 5 long bars. The only other view out the room was a small window also made of bars. Other than a rickety bed that looked ready to crumble, and an old wooden table there really wasn't much else to the room. However, on the table was a small flash light. Walking over I picked up the flash light on the table and turned it on. It flickered a bit and took a few smacks before it finally worked properly.
Flash light in hand, I walked up to the cell door to check if it was unlocked. With the slightest touch the door creaked open on its rusty hinges. Taking a minuet, I peered down the hallway before me. The only pathway was straight ahead down a long eerie corridor.
Taking a deep breath I slowly made my way into the darkness. Of course, the flashlight i've been given is crap and barely makes a dent in the dark abyss currently in front of me. Still, I continued on my way with a hand against one wall to help me keep my bearings. The hallway i'm walking down seems to stretch on forever and I begin to think there might not be an end to it. As I continued onward I notice the menacing shadow my body casted on the walls and ceiling from the flash light. Eventually I make it to a new opening and a spark of hope fills me.
A long metal stair well descends before me. It looks about as promising as the hallway but there is nowhere else to go. I began my venture down the stairs cautiously. Ten or twelve steps of things going good I hear voices coming from the bottom of the stairwell.
I stopped dead in my tracks, foot suspended above the next step down, as an icy wave of fear passed through me. The voices sounded young, but I wasn't too keen on finding out if they were nice. As I stood there pondering over fight or flight the flash light began to flicker again. I hit it a few times but the already weak beam died out completely. The flash light might have been crap but it was better than nothing. I cursed aloud, big mistake. Whoever was at the bottom of the stairs heard this and their voices silenced instantaneously. I started backing away quietly up the steps, in hopes of a silent getaway.
When just my luck, whoever was down there decided to make their way up here. I swear my heart leaped in my throat when I heard a foot fall on the bottom step.
Picking up my pace I was practically running quietly up the stairs. This would have worked if not for two thing. Doing it backwards, and tripping on an untied shoelace. But of course, both of these applied to my situation. And in just seconds I went from escaping, to tumbling down the stairs straight toward the source of the mystery voices, screaming bloody murder along the way.

HorrorWho am I? Where am I? What happened? All questions that should have been the first things to come to mind when I awoke from unconsciousness in a room relatively closer to a cell. Not how surprisingly comfy the ground was.
