Chapter Three~
Janet smith? Wasn't the name of one of those girls I saw earlier Janet? I find it a little hard to imagine any reason an innocent girl like her would be put in solitary. What could she have possibly done, apologize too much? I pushed on the door after undoing all the locks but it wouldn't budge. As I surrendered with a sigh, a creaking sound emitted behind me. I turned around to see that the door behind me had been opened half way.
I know that when this kind of stuff happens in a movie it never ends well. But curiosity got the best of me and I made my way into the room anyways. It looked about the same as all the other rooms, bed, wardrobe, and night stand. The main difference being a small note book lay opened on the ground at the foot of the bed. I bent down to pick it up and noticed the name written messily on the cover. Emily.
Quickly flipping to the last entry I began reading.
They put Janet in the horrible padded room again. This time for claiming a ghost pushed her plate off the dinner table, but the head mistress wouldn't believe her. It was one of her good plates that broke, so she was really mad. Janet begged and pleaded as they dragged her away, all the kids at the table just stared like usual not daring to say a word, then went back to their meals. She's been in there for a few hours now and I can still hear her faint sobs from across the hall. I wish they would just believe her for once, before it's too late.
Too late, was she implying they had something planned? What exactly happened in this place? I started flipping back to the first entry when a slip of folded paper fell from within the journal. I managed to catch it just in time. Tossing the journal lightly on the bed I slowly unfolded the paper. It was a newspaper article dated back a few years ago.
Children's Asylum Shutdown Due To Cruelty
As of last week, Annabel's Children's Asylum has been shutdown. There have said to have been multiple cases of inhumane treatment. Such as beatings, in some cases to death, solitary sentences for days or even weeks when not needed, starvation, and much more. Police arrived late last week to do a search of the asylum after Emily Vangho, one of the admitted children managed to get hold of a phone to file a report. Police say cries of distress could be heard which some would say is normal at an asylum. But the 'murderous' tone the head mistress had when threatening children in the background was enough for the police to go check it out. The head chief commented, "What I saw in there I will never forget. The poor souls of those murdered, and the ones who had to witness. If that girl Emily hadn't managed to call us they might have all died before we realized what truly went on behind those walls."
Annabel was abel to keep this act going by allowing family to enter only certain parts of the asylum. As for those whose child was no longer with us, were told that their child was progressively worse therefore visitors were prohibited. Since this discovery Annabel has been arrested with multiple charges, one of which being manslaughter. Healing the minds of todays youth is extremely important, they hold the key to a better, brighter future. However, there is a fine line between treatment and torture, and Annabel has passed so very far beyond it.

Asylum (On Hold)
HorrorWho am I? Where am I? What happened? All questions that should have been the first things to come to mind when I awoke from unconsciousness in a room relatively closer to a cell. Not how surprisingly comfy the ground was.
