"Get up," Brother Geldwing snapped at Coven. Brother Geldwing was ugly. Coven was smart enough to know that. He had bald spots on his head, a lumpy nose, and deep sunken eyes. Coven wondered if he'd ever looked good, and assumed that some people just aren't as lucky as him and His Brother.
"I am," Coven groaned sitting up. His hair was a mess, and he tried to smooth it.
"Where were you yesterday," Geldwing had an angry and nasaly voice, "You missed Feast." Coven didn't think it was necessary to explain where he was to someone like Brother Geldwing.
"Out." He left the room, and Brother Geldwing hobbled after him.
"What did He tell you! What did He say!" Coven rolled his eyes and walked past other Brothers to get to the bathroom, lucky for him it was unoccupied. He went in and shut the door on Brother Geldwing's screaming hysterics. The other Brothers could deal with his lunacy.
Coven looked at himself in the mirror. His hair was messier than he had realized, and he was shirtless. He wasn't supposed to be shirtless. He rolled his eyes at himself and combed his hair down. His hair was naturally silver, which was pretty cool according to him. They made his eyes pop. He grabbed an abandoned robe off the hook on the door and pulled it on. He listened to the door to see if Brother Geldwing had left, he had, and the house was now restored to its silence. He opened the door and faced His Brother. Coven made eye contact with him, a challenge he shouldn't have proposed. His Brother grabbed his neck tightly. Coven's hand gripped at His Brothers trying to pry it from his neck.
"It has come to my attention you've been out," His voice was deep and chilling, Coven was cold to his bones. His Brother shoved him into the bathroom and Coven stumbled and fell. He kept his eyes low, but raised enough that His Brother could see the distaste in them.
"Sorry," Coven wheezed his throat aching, "Sorry, sir." Coven raised his eyes slightly to the cruel violet eyes of His Brother. The challenge was over, Coven had lost, and His Brother was done. He left the bathroom abandoning Coven in a coughing fit.

August opened his eyes. He wasn't in the field. He wasn't in his bed. It was a very disorienting moment. He looked around and realized he was on the couch in the living room. He slowly ran a hand through his hair and sat up. There was glass littered around the kitchen, and someone's blood smeared on the floor. He wanted to sigh, but this was all too normal to sigh at.
Slowly August brought himself  into the kitchen so he could clean up the mess. Warm wind was rushing in from somewhere, and it brought with it the distant chatter of birds, and people. The sound reminded him that he didn't have to stay inside all day, and that he didn't have a schedule during summer. What day was it even? When the mess was clean August went looking for his phone, and couldn't find it. He didn't think much of it because he often couldn't find his phone, but he'd never thought someone in this town would've stolen it.

Coven lounged in a black t-shirt and jeans in the morning sun. He didn't really like to waste time, but today even the sun dragged across the sky lazzly. Usually he'd be studying at this time, but currently he was going through August's phone. It was very empty. He had a conversation with his brother, and a few pictures of animals. But no downloaded apps, and no music, and no recent phone calls. Coven tired of the pointless object and set it down letting the sun soak through him clearing out the chill from earlier.
"Hey!" A voice yelled at him. Coven rolled his head to see who had called. August himself stood there. Coven looked at him. His hair was curly, but in trend, and he was very fit despite seeming small. His eyes were almost as cold as His Brothers voice, but they had a passion lying in them. August was wearing blue jeans, and a white tank top. He was attractive, and Coven wasn't a fool who'd deny that.
"Hey yourself," Coven called back. Augusts eyes sparkled even more. Coven wondered if August had ever had a friend before, because he sure hadn't.

"Where'd you come from?" August and Coven were walking around the town. August was showing Coven where all the teenagers hung out. No one was out today.
"Where is everyone?" Coven asked. August kind of gave him a cocked eyebrow and blank look, a look Coven was coming to understand as one that meant he was asking a stupid question.
"It's like, 10:43 in the morning," August left it at that as if that was enough of an explanation. Coven decided this was going to be a very secretive partnership. He knew August had secrets, because if you didn't you were a bitch. They walked for a bit longer before stopping in an alleyway. Coven thought alleyways were where drug deals, and murders went down, but apparently August found them a nice place to relax and drink a rootbeer. Coven watched in silence as August tipped his head back and let the cool liquid pour into his mouth. It was such a simple gesture, but it seemed to take forever. He saw a few drops miss August's mouth and drop down his shirt onto the ground. He let his eyes trail up the boy slowly taking every part of him in. The jeans hid his legs, but coven noted that his ass was in fine shape, and he had a more feminine build. His arms were tanned and well formed and his face was looking directly at Coven. He felt something in his stomach churn, August had a cocked eyebrow and blank stare, and Coven stared back not ashamed of taking the boy in. August offered the rootbeer not taking his eyes off him. Coven accepted it and drank the rest without letting his mouth touch the lip of the bottle. He wondered briefly if August was watching how he drank, and if he made it look as effortless as August. He let that thought leave right away.
The boys wandered the quiet town a bit longer, the sun burning their backs.
