Two Weeks Later

I unlock the front door and usher Ezra in. She gives me an amused smirk but I look away. It's been almost a week since she was released from the hospital. I've been taking care of everything around the apartment, so she doesn't have to. If she asks for something, I stop whatever I'm doing just to get it. Admittedly, it is getting a bit ridiculous. Ezra has been teasing me fiercely about it, especially after she jokingly asked me to go get her fruit at ten at night a few days ago, and I immediately hopped up, ready to do so. Ezra raises her eyebrow at me now and grins.

"Yes, I was absolutely incapable of unlocking the door, thank you for doing it, sweetie." I roll my eyes at her and pull off my shoes, hanging her keychain on the rack next to mine. "Oh, I'm teasing, Peaches. You know I love the attention." I lead the way to the living room, Ezra carefully following me. Her stitches had gotten slightly infected, and they were still touch-sensitive. "Hold on, though. I kinda was serious when I said I wanted to watch movies with you. I miss snuggling with you." She pouts and I smile. "We can even make some snacks!" Ezra wiggles her eyebrows temptingly, and I giggle. "Oh, come on! What do you say to some chick-flicks, food, and exclusive cuddling with your girlfriend?" She raises her arms, showman style. I make my way to her and lightly hold her waist.

"Exclusive, huh? Does that mean I'm the only one getting this offer?" Ezra rests her hands on my shoulders, giving them a quick squeeze.

"You bet, babe. It's 'cause you're so good looking." She winks, causing me to snort a small laugh. She pecks my cheek and walks past me to browse our small collection of DVD's. "You make the snacks!" She calls over her shoulder. "I get the honor of picking a movie." I grin and pad into the kitchen. I pull out a bag of buttered popcorn and pop it into the microwave. While I wait, I get a small bag of MnM's in the cupboard, pouring it into a small bowl. Then, I pull out a bottle of Sprite and pour two glasses. I start to hear popping from behind me. I dig around in the cabinet above my head for a large bowl. I clumsily bring everything into the living room, setting the glasses and candy bowl on the table, and the popcorn on the couch.

"Ezzy?" Ezra has disappeared, but her voice calls out, muffled.

"I'm getting a blanket!" She comes out of her room with a fluffy pink throw blanket. Ezra drops it in my lap, and picks up a DVD case of the coffee table. After she pops it in the DVD player, Ezra sits next to me and moves closer. She pulls the blanket over us and lays her head on my neck. "Are you ready for this? Best girl movie of all time!" She murmurs in my ear. I turn to face her.

"Oh really?" I whisper. "I dunno, isn't The Notebook kinda... basic? Y'know, a real tear-jerker?" Ezra glares at me, and reaches around my waist to grab the orange bowl.

"You're basic." She retaliates, then stuffs a handful of popcorn in her mouth. I giggle and redirect my attention back to the TV. "Besides, it's a cute story." A small piece of popcorn falls to the blanket as Ezra talks. I snort before picking up the piece and shoving it back into her mouth. Ezra coughs for a second but finally chews and swallows her mouthful of food. She narrows her eyes at me and frowns. "Stop trying to kill me!" She whisper yells. I grin and give her a small kiss.

"Be quiet an' watch the movie." I mumble against her lips. Ezra smiles beneath my mouth, and we cuddle closely, watching the film.

I wrench the wet blanket in my hands, lip quivering. "It's so beautiful!" I sob. Ezra nods, crying as well.

"I want to die like that!" Allie and Noah lie together closely, hands intertwined. "That's so sweet!" Ezra mops her eyes on the already soaked cloth. She rests her head on my shoulder as the credits slowly begin to roll. "M-maybe we shouldn't have watched that." She hiccups between short sobs.
