Darling, I had seen you from a distance
No idea or hope you'd be in arms reach
Then you came straight through that back door
I was up too no good and out of my element

Oh my god, that fucking smile
Nothing but your polite acknowledgement
Enough too stunt my dysfunction and judgement
And I couldn't gather myself in that moment

I left that place with an uneasy discontent laughter
Throwing myself away to the nights self medication
Met with warm welcomes and cheery grins
I could live for these and but not them alone

Oh my god, that fucking smile
Nothing but your polite acknowledgement
Enough too stunt my dysfunction and judgement
And I couldn't gather myself in that moment

Self harm and misery hasn't stop the day dreaming
But could you ever stay next to someone like me?
Would you be able to accept or ignore my sins?
You let me see you again and left me wondering why?

Oh my god, that fucking smile
Nothing but your polite acknowledgement
Enough too stunt my dysfunction and judgement
And I couldn't gather myself in that moment

If us being together would be more than a dream
I would know exactly how things should go
We'd be able to wonder too the lake and lay by the water, I'd invite you too sit on my chest, raise your hands against my neck, let you squeeze as you submerge my head, letting me see just that smile as I fade.
