"Hey. Are...are you okay?" A voice prodded Elle's sluggish mind. She struggled to open her eyes as kaleidoscope shapes swirled around her head. Even though her head was throbbing like her brain exchanged places with her heart, she noticed that she wasn't touching the cold sidewalk. Quite the opposite actually. She was laying on something soft and warm. "Eleanor?" It took a beat for Elle to realize she was laying on someone, not something. Panicked, she jolted up, and almost immediately fell over as the world seemed to spin.
The person supported her though, holding her shoulder as they stood up and dusted themself off. The first thing Eleanor noticed about them was their hair. It was a charming shade of red. When they looked up, Elle realized they were actually a he. He had glittering green eyes and a fair complexion. She was stunned. He... seemed familiar. That hair, those eyes... As she thought of it though, a wave of nausea hit her. The boy seemed concerned, but he smiled. "Eleanor! Are you alright? That was such a close call! I knew the neighborhood looked familiar." Elle tried for a smile. "Thank you so much for saving me." "I didn't know you can black out in a dream though..." She looked back at the ginger boy. "Im sorry, I forgot to ask, what's your name?". The boy was silent. "Im sorry, what?". Eleanor repeated "What's your name?". The ginger's smile faultered as he looked at her. "I... of course." His smile slipped. "I..". He tried for a grin again. "Im Troy!" He looked at Elle with meaningful eyes. Elle smiled "Well Troy, thank you so much for saving me. I dont know what would've happened if I got hit.". Troy looked pained as he studied her face; from those streaks of grey in her hair to the cut across her eyebrow that never healed. Eleanor felt uncomfortable and added. "But how do you know my name?" Troy's eyes snapped back to her face. "Sorry?". "How do you know me?" Elle repeated, wondering why the boy was being very sketchy. He seemed to mumble something. Then he cleared his throat and grinned. "Well I am in your head afterall! I should know who you are." Well, Eleanor thought. I guess that kinda made sense. Slowly, her eyes closed on their own accord. "Wha-"
When she opened them again, she saw daylight streaming from her bedroom window.
