Millie
I was still debating with myself. I didn't want to hide my past from August. He was the only friend I had. But still, every time I thought about Richard, I wanted to cry my eyes out.
I reached the coffee shop which August told me about. He was sitting there, with two menus in his hand. He smiled at me as I sat down. I blushed. To tell the truth, I was really nervous. This was the first time I hanged out with August. He gave me a menu and looked into his own. After a lot of thinking, I ordered myself an expresso with chocolate chip cookies. August ordered for a latte with butter cookies.
I commanded myself to stay cool, and leaned forward. "August, you asked me about Richard. I guess I can trust you, can I?" He nodded. I relaxed. "Richard was my...boyfriend. He used to come with me to college. I guess you can say we loved each other a lot. But his friends had other plans. They wanted me, you see, but they had to remove Richard out of the way. They sent us to a forest for a picnic, and they attacked on Richard and me there. We ran away, but they caught up with us. Richard was badly wounded, and so was I. But he told me to run away, while they were searching for us. He collapsed, leaving me alone. I ran away from there. They found Richard all right, but they couldn't find me." I finished. Tears streaked through my eyes. I swear the waiter who served us thought I was mad, but at that moment, I didn't care, not even a bit. My heart wished it never told me to tell August.
