Jonah and I know that nothing can top off the fake proposal. So we came up with new ideas for the real proposal. Which sucks a lot. I don't know why, but it seems like my past self was more creative. I think Hannah was frustrated because Jonah hasn't proposed yet. And it's been three years since they got back together. We need to act, fast.
It was Friday night and like the annoying little sister that wants her big brother to be happy that I am, I googled "unique ways to propose to someone". And by the time I reach the end of the first website, I got a lot of ideas.I called Jonah and told him to meet up on the diner where he worked before. We talked about it and that's why I'm here now. In a restaurant where Jonah will commence his proposal. The plan was to propose to her, Spiderman style. Call me a classic, but I'm out of ideas. Well, Peter Parker failed his, but I certainly wouldn't want it to fail.
To make sure that this would work, I followed them here. Clad with hipster glasses, a definitely fake blonde wig, and a size too big cardigan, I sat a few chairs in front of where Jonah is going to sit. I'm going to go out and say that this is cliche and I'm so not needed here and that Jonah will be fine all by himself.
"Miss, may I help you?"
I turn around to see a waiter with familiar sandy blond hair. "Michael?" I widen my eyes. His clear blue eyes stare back at me. He's just as I remember him from three years ago. "Clara," He says, "It's been a while, I wasn't expecting to see you here."
"Do anyone expects anyone to be here?" I joke.
"But seriously though, what are you doing here?" He scrunches his eyebrows, "Are you perhaps..." He scratches the back of his neck, "waiting for your boyfriend?"
A blush creeps to my face, "What? Psh, as much as I want that, but no. I'm just stalking my brother and his soon-to-be fiance." As if on cue, Jonah and Hannah walks to the table two rows in front of me and I duck my head on the menu. So cliche. Michael trails his eyes on the smiling couple as Jonah took a seat out for Hannah.
"Hey Mike," I use his nickname, "Could you do me a favor?"
"Yeah, sure."
I lean over to whisper something to him, he nods. I give him a blue velvet box and slip in a tip, saying, "Thanks, Mike."
But his fingers pushes the green paper away from him as he give me a small smile, "No problem, Clara."

After a while, Jonah catches my eye as I give him a thumbs up, signalling Mike to come in with the violinist.
"Your violinist, sir." Mike gives Jonah a wink.
"Wait, we didn't order a violinist... Whatever that is." Hannah laughs.
"But I did."
The guy with the hat begins to play the intro of Thinking Out Loud with his ukulele. Jonah clears his throat and stands up.
"Jonah, what are you doing?" Hannah
In reply, Jonah begins to sing.
"When your legs don't work like they used to before
And I can't sweep you off of your feet
Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love?
Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks?"
Jonah pauses a moment while the music still sways to reach for Hannah's hand. She raises an eyebrow, her lips turns into a smile. She whispers something to him and punches his chest slowly. Mike already scooted closer to me at that point, "Is this the right time to do the thing?""No, let them enjoy the moment." I say to him. I don't know why, but I feel like a sinister master who plans on ruining other people's relationships. On the time being, my head just sway to the music as Jonah and Hannah do a small waltz, even though there are several people that are looking at them like they're crazy, some of them joining the couple and is doing a small waltz.
Mike let out his hand, "Will you do the honors of dancing with me?" I let out a laugh, standing up then bow a little, "Of course." He takes my hand in his and we kind of sway to the music.
"But, baby, now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
Thinking out loudThat maybe we found love right where we are"
"Mike, now." He nods in understanding and rushes off to grab his tray. He makes a show by dodging the couples with his tray. He sets up two glasses on the table, then pour champagne into said glasses. After he finishes his job, he bumps into Jonah until champagne spills all over his black blazer. The music immediately stops and everyone turns around to look at Mike.
"I'm so sorry."
"No, it's okay." As Jonah says that, a clink finds its way to the floor. His girlfriend's blue eyes darts from both of them, to the floor. I guess that she sees the object, because she gasped, "No way."
Jonah, seeing that his trick is revealed, smirks knowingly, "Yes way."
He bends over to pick up the silver ring that resembles two bended lilies with diamonds on them. He kneels in front of her, the ring on his open palm, "Hannah Taylors, when you first spilled soda on me, I thought, wow, this girl is annoying," He coughs then mutter an "I don't know why I'm telling you this,"
"But as I gradually know you, I started to grow fond of you and your ways. I'm glad that you spilled soda on me because you made me who I am today and as Ed Sheeran says, 'maybe we found love right where we are.' Would you spend the rest of your life with me without Lily the fake baby but Lily the real baby?"
"Just cut to the chase already!" Someone shouts from the back.
"Johanna Mary Taylors, will you marry me?"
"Yes, marrying you will be my pleasure." Hannah laughs as Jonah slip the ring on her finger. They kiss before it turns into a long make-out session which I don't want to delve into.
"Clara," Mike suddenly stands beside me, scratching the back of his neck, "once this is over, I mean, after this, would you go on a dinner with me?"
I smile at him, "I'd love to."
