Leia Theetmdor, like any other good child her age is helping her mother, Karia Theetmdor, make dinner, like she does every night. But, this night wasn't going to be the same. See Leia has a secret, one she plans to tell her family, tonight specifically. As Leia was cutting up vegetables a thought popped into her mind, what if my parents don't like me? Getting decracted by this, Leia nearly severed her left middle finger from her body. Paying that no mind she continued on preparing dinner, worries and doubt fighting to be noticed.

When her mother called out her name it sounded so far away, so hard to grasp. Then, she came back down to Earth realizing she was being spoken to.

"-don't you agree honey? Leia! Are you even listening to me?" Her mother had asked Leia something, but, she hadn't the slightest clue as to what it could be.

"Hm? No mother, I didn't hear the first part of what you said. I had been to caught up in my thoughts." Leia told her mother shame laced between her words. "I apologize."

"Right, as I was saying, today when I had gone to the supermarket to pick up a few things for dinner, and two men had been walking down the street." She made a gagging noise before moving on. "And they had been *gag* holding hands. Isn't the ideology of that just repulsive?" Before Leia could say anything her mother continued. "I mean God made it to where men and women could reproduce together, not two men, so a man and a man together is just, wrong."

"Mother, mom, aren't you the one always preaching you should be with the one you love, not the person your parents want you to be with?" Leia tried to reason with her mother.

She looked at her daughter blankly, not being able to connect the two things. "Of course, but that only applies to two people of different genders, two of the same gender is just, wrong." Her face morphed into one of disgust.

Leia was just blatantly confused. "But why is that mother? Because it isn't God's will? Or that your homophobic? Or maybe that's what grandmother drilled into your head.
None of those are reasons to decree someone simply because the heart wants what the heart wants." Leia attempted to change her mother's mind.

Karia stopped for a moment pondering what her daughter told her, and deciding on what to say next. "Well that's your view on things and I have mine." She smiled at her daughter lovingly at her daughter for one of the last times but neither of them knew that not yet at least. "Don't you have homework to do, rather than help your dear old mother?" And with that Leia Theetmdor went to her room to complete her assignments.

Next thing Leia knew she was up in front of her family about to tell them her long kept secret. She felt uneasy, queasy maybe, her palms felt clammy, and her heart beat a mile a minute she thought that it would leap from her chest. The pit in her stomach was more like a black hole devouring her from the inside working outward. She wondered what would get the best of her first, the lack of a heart or the lack of her other vitals.

She took a deep breath, had a glass of water been in front of her she surely would have inhaled the contents. "Mother, Father, Bane," she looked at each as she spoke their title. "I have been meaning to tell you something for quite some time now, I just had to find the right time to do so. But alas the right time nor opportunity fell into place, that is when I realized that you must form those things because they are not simply given to you on a golden platter. Then with that I decided I wanted to draft a speech leading up to my proclamation, but after ten minutes of that I decided against the whole ordeal, I would just say what came to mind, that being this I suppose. You must now be dying to hear what I have to say but you will still have to wait.

"Mom, I just adore our talks leading into the early hours of the morning, complaining about father and Bane, and who knows what else. The time we spend together making dinner telling each other about our day. Our competitions of who could read more books in a month, and going out just to leave this house not for any particular reason. No matter what this stuff is not going to change." Karia Theetmdor was shocked, she hadn't realized that her daughter noticed these things, or that she cared so much. If anything she looked bored or annoyed when it was happening. But she just could not express these worries aloud because that would be rude to Leia and Karia was not about that, not after all the kind things her daughter said to her.
