As soon as school was over Deana rushed out of class so that she could run into Mr. Richardson again.
Instead of seeing who she dreamed to see, she ran into her nightmare.
Her ex boyfriend Akeem Phillips was new to Atlanta when they met last year.
They dated for about 5 months and throughout the entire relationship Deana would not give in and have sex with him.
Akeem didn't like that at all, so he broke up with her.
"What's up D?", He said with a smile.
"Hi Akeem.", She replied, attempting to walk off.
He grabbed her arm before she could get away.
"Hold on babe. Where you headed?"
"To hell if I don't pray. Now let me go.", She said while trying to pull away from him.
He squeezed her arm even tighter.
"Bitch, are you..."
"Aye Mr. Phillips?" A voice came shouting from down the hall.
Immediately Akeem let go of Deana's arm.
"Got somewhere to be? Like maybe, somewhere else other than in the halls harassing other students?"
As the voice got closer Deana recognized it on the spot.
It was Mr. Richardson.
"My bad man." Akeem finally walked off, leaving Deana and Mr. Richardson alone.
"Thank u so much.", Deana said while rubbing her arm where Akeem had grabbed her.
"No problem Miss Young. Are you ok?", He asked with much concern.
"Yes. I'm fine. He's just a jerk.", She replied back with her head hanging low as always.
"Hey. What did I tell you earlier about that head of yours. You're way to beautiful to keep your head down. I want to see your face. Not the top of your head."
That put a smile on Deana's face. Just knowing that someone cared for her made her feel good inside.
"Sorry about that. It just come natural to me.", She said attempting to keep her head up.
"You don't have to apologize to me. But where do you live? I can give you a ride home if you want."
"I stay right up the street. I can walk there."
Deana was way too nervous to get a ride from a teacher. It just seemed weird.
"I insist ", he replied back.
So the two walked to his car and got in.
"Are you hungry?" He asked.
"No I'm fine. I'll eat when I get home."
The more they talked, the more nervous she became.
It got so bad that she started shaking.
Mr. Richardson noticed how nervous she was getting and said, "I don't want you feel uncomfortable around me. I'm not gonna hurt you."
Deana finally loosened up and said, "ok. I guess we can get a bite to eat."
"What would you like?", He asked.
"Anything is fine."
"Ok how about we get a couple of burgers for now and then Friday you let me cook for you?", He asked her with a flirtatious look on his face."
"Sure. That sounds great."
