“Sherlock, put the skull down!” A tall boy with short dark hair and brown eyes hissed to a younger lad; who was holding a four thousand years old skull.

The boy with curly black hair and blue green eyes looked up from the skull he was holding

and retorted with malice in his voice “ Honestly Mycroft, I don’t see why I have to learn about history. Now is now.”

Mycroft rolled his eyes and gestured to the professor who was guiding the tour of human history. “Ask him, after all he is your teacher.”

Sherlock's teacher had been dramatically gesturing at a piece of artwork that depicted a young Aztec boy, who had been so creative in murder that his parents changed the boys name to Moriarty. Moriarty translated into ‘To die is an art’

Before the younger boy named Sherlock could unhinge the skulls jaw his brother Mycroft, snatched it from his curious fingers. Sherlock scowled at his his brother as he watched Mycroft set the skull back on its pedestal.

“Is there a problem Mr. Holmes?” a Scottish accented voice rumbled to the back of the group where the brothers were. They had been caught by the teacher guiding the tour.

Mycroft flashed an apologetic smile to the professor before turning back to Sherlock and hissed through his teeth “ Honestly Sherlock, I would expect this kind of behavior of a child of lesser intelligence or age! But you, Sherlock Holmes, have very high expectations that you must meet.”

A look of hurt, anger, and contempt flashed across Sherlock’s small face before going blank and turning back to Mr. Moffat who was droning on about what environment the humans lived in the time period.

Half an hour later the group broke for lunch on the museum steps.

“Here.’’ Mycroft handed his brother a lunch tin. As Sherlock opened the tin he pulled a face at the sight of the tuna fish sandwich his mother made.

“Yet again mother has made another spectacular pig intestine on cardboard sandwich.’’ He mumbled under his breath.

‘’Sherlock, can you at least try to enjoy our mothers cooking?’’ Mycroft questioned

They stared at each other for a while with mixed expressions before Mycroft turned back to the soggy mess on his napkin.

"May I sit with you Mycroft?" It was the same Scottish voice that had told them off in the museum

"Of course Professor Moffat!" Mycroft said cheerily while elbowing Sherlock in the ribs to say 'hello'.

"Um... Sherlock, I was wondering if I could talk to your brother about private matters?" Moffat asked the boy. Sherlock nodded and without a word packed his soggy sandwich along with the thermos of tea.

He marched up in front of Mycroft and held out his small hand. Reluctantly, Mycroft reached into his coat pocket and pulled out an eye patch and a frilly red feather, like the ones in the pirate films. The older brother slid the patch over Sherlocks left eye and tucked the feather behind his ear.

For the first time since he had been holding the skull Sherlock smiled. Swaggering off towards the water fountain pretending to fight imaginary foes with a non-existent sword.

"Your brother has quit the imagination." The teacher commented with a smile.

"Yes," Mycroft replied watching his younger brother dance around the edge of the water parrying and striking at his enemies. "Sometimes I wonder if it is for better or worst."

’What's wrong?’’ the boy questioned. The professor looked away from the his playing student.

“Mycroft,’’ Mr. Moffat started in his soft scottish accent, ‘’As you may know, Xavier's school for the gifted.’’ He paused, ''Well... It's for gifted children.''

A scoff escaped from Mycroft's mouth. ''Are you saying my brother isn't gifted?''

"No, no. He is gifted I mean the way he can analyze a situation and come up with a theory in a matter of seconds is incredible! But every time I ask him a question he says he deleted the answer, he's just-'' The professor looked back at Sherlock, ''He's not our gifted.''

Mr. Moffat pulled out a envelope from his jacket pocket. He glanced at Mycroft and then back at the letter, and then handed it to Mycroft.

''This is a letter of expulsion.''
