The Separation

It was a bright sunny day the birds were chirping, the fish were biting and the little five-year-old Lance Grimson couldn't be happier. He was a small child without a care in the world. He had short and curly white hair, bright green eyes and tanned skin from being outside all day. He was play fighting with his brother Sebastian Grimson who also was five fighting with wooden swords their mother had got them. Sebastian was a tan boy because of all the sun he gets he had thick black hair and piercing blue eyes. If you hadn't known the family you would not have thought they were brothers. Lance and Sebastian were fraternal twins and were usually inseparable doing every little thing together.

Their life was simple, their father was a fisherman and their mother was the king's seamstress. They were usually on their father's boat. Today was supposed to be a day of celebration for the king's wife who had given birth to a little girl, but little did they know their family was not going to be part of the celebration.

Lance was fighting with Sebastian when he swung his sword and broke Sebastian's. Sebastian angrily rushed down into the hull and their father chased after him when suddenly there was a loud BOOM! Followed by a dozen more. There was an array of cannonballs ripping through the skies. They flew directly at the ship like moths to a flame.

Lance was thrown from the blast into the water along with his mom; he never saw his dad or his brother ever again. The next few years of his life were spent as a kitchen boy while his mom searched far for his brother and father until he was 17 and was knighted by king Gabriel, but before he could fully become a knight he must perform a simple quest which for him it was just a simple retrieve they were supposed to be in and out no interruptions but it didn't end up being that simple for the gold they were told to retrieve had something guarding it. The Grubian dragon a ferocious beast that was fifteen feet tall weighed 3,000 pounds, skin as tough as steel, had razor-sharp claws and teeth and of course, it breathed fire but that wasn't the scariest part no the scariest thing about the Grubian dragon was it's tail long and thin with a stinger similar to that of a scorpion with venom that causes hallucinations, dizziness and inevitably death, but not before causing intense, excruciating pain. The battle was long Lance went with a troop of ten and returned with himself, nine corpses and the head of a dragon he barely survived, in fact, the only reason he survived was because of a random carriage because as the two were going toe to toe sword to claw Lance was losing strength and he fell backward and the dragon took advantage slicing his face with its claws narrowly missing his eyes but giving him he new scars down his right eye. The Dragon was about to make him the desert for his meal of knights but as it approached a carriage with a family on it rode past taking the dragons focus off the single person on to the full family it started towards the carriage but Lance had lost his family he wouldn't let another be torn apart he rushed towards the dragons rear end leaped off of a boulder and severed its tail grabbing it and stabbing the dragon with it confusing it before the effect ran off he severed the head of the beast and returned a knight.
